like "my mom didn't let me play death of superman (genesis) anymore because i'd get so nervous my heart would beat faster" or "my dad stepped all over my MKultimate cart because he was nuts over his divorce"

I lost my gameboy color because I took something from my sister when we arrived at my cousins house. She chased me and to escape i jumped in the pool (thats why we were there). What game did I also lose you ask? Pokemon gold.

Had my 12yr old self not been a dumbass i would have put the gameboy down in the car instead of putting it in my swim trunks pocket... why do swim trunks have pockets???

The first games I brought were Spyro 2 and 3. I owned games but hadn't brought one until then. I remember being 4 or 5 and entering the game store with my mom. There was a big thing near the front dedicated to Spyro, and I had played the demo to the first game in Crash 3, so I brought it.

The rest of my stories are /v/

I used to rent Dragon Warrior 4 all the time from the local drug store, like every weekend, played the fuck out of it. Eventually my mother told the guys there to stop renting to me because i cpuld have probably bought the game 4 times over.

Ah, casino monster fights, i miss betting on you.

I rented Megaman 3 from my local video store and when I got home my parents told me they were separating.

I've tried to enjoy the Megaman franchise since but I keep associating them with that shitty time of my childhood, playing 2 and 3 while my folks shouted at each other behind their bedroom door thinking I couldn't hear them.

I got an awesome bj while playing Rez also but that isn't /vr/-worthy.

I was Trainer Jay with a lv. 100 Feraligatr named Crocodude, and he was the first and only Lv. 100 I owned through pure training. He was Lv. 71 before I beat the E4 for the first time. I traded and battled with many friends, and caught the extremely rare Skarmory. That file will live on in my memories, but because of the swim I took at my best friend's in 5th or 6th grade, it will never hold a save again.

It's heavy to lose a Pokemon cartridge to water damage, man. I understand completely.

That's nothing.

I've owned the game since release and never made it past the Fire Temple. I always get bored, come back a year later, and restart.

I haven't finished MM, WW, TP, or SS either, and have owned everything but WW since release as well.

My dad bought my 13-year-old self Duke 64. He would constantly take the controller and play when I was fucking up. My mom threw it away. They divorced soon afterwards.

just pretend you were playing it on the dreamcast.

did you hand her the trance vibrator and after the first stage she couldn't take it anymore?

I did not have the trance pad. I did have a tent in my pants and brain full of some illicit chemicals.

Something about the music, the drugs, the visuals and the sex all added up to more than the sum of its parts.

I never did drugs again.

My dad was really against GTA, so when he saw me playing Vice City it told him you didn't have to be a bad person, and that you could help people too. I got into the ambulance and did hospital missions, and punched thieves for the good citizen bonus. It kind of worked, but he still flipped his shit years later when he saw me playing GTAIV.

He also got pretty upset when he heard Gex say "I'M HUNGRY DAMNIT!" in Gex 1. Glad he didn't take it away though, I love that game.

I have this weird memory of playing a PS1 WWE game and the character in the customization screen trying to get out of the screen. I would ask my cousin who I recall playing with me but she's probably forgotten and it was llikely a dream

What?!

Ok, here goes my story then:
Me and all my friends had SNES and then the first Playstation came out. My best friend's brother got it and I was like "are you betraying nintendo for that crap, I'm waiting for N64 so I can play Zelda."

Then I went to his place and tried Resident Evil... that changed my mind and I forgot all about Zelda, I used all the money I got for my 15th birthday to get a Psx and RE.

Later a class mate who got the N64 said he was selling it so I got it cheap from him. Bought Zelda oot and played it one time thru. After finishing it I felt like there was no point in keeping it and sold it again. The N64 was really unimpressive to me, expensive games, low res, and even Zelda tho a good game had some odd things like that castle map where you have to sneak like they're trying to imitate Metal Gear. After this experience I will hold firm that Link's Awakening is the best Zelda game, nintendo took a wrong turn going for low res 3D at that time and still not sticking with it.

tl:dr
Nintendo fan tried Resident Evil and turned to Playstation.

When I was in the 5th grade or so (after growing up in a house with mostly just an N64 and an XBox), my brother brought down his old SNES from our attic. I'd already played, like, EarthBound and Chrono Trigger briefly on ZSNES, but it was cool to experience for the first time.

Unfortunately, our OCD neatfreak dad hid it away somewhere because we didn't set it up neatly enough, so some years later he sets out to buy a new one, and some more games. He lets me know this guy is selling a SNES and a stack of games including EarthBound for about $80, and I get hype because we're about to score EB for a fucking steal...

...and then, at the last second, while he's about to seal the deal, some douche comes and buys the EarthBound cart for like 50 bucks. My brother comes home with Street Fighter II in the plastic case EarthBound was supposed to come home in.

There was a Power Ranger fighting game for the genesis that my bro had. He let me borrow it once and my mom threw it away because I wasnt allowed to watch Power Rangers. My bro was pissed. Also wasnt allowed to play pokemon.
