if you said Pocket Bomberman was better than most games I'd agree but this one doesn't even have the obligatory battle mode. Still good though

It's a good game, but the fact that it doesn't at all play like bomberman is what makes it a spin-off. Personally, I like Bomberman Quest, but I can't argue it's better than regular bomberman let alone any of the sequels since they're mostly incomparable gameplay-wise.

This series based on the first Tokimemo was so much better than the original game. You get an actual story, some great minigames and memorable tracks.

I played a heck of a lot more Sonic Spinball than I ever did the main games. Totally surprised me how awesome that game was.

Mystical Ninja 64 stands out to me but it's obviously just in my opinion, though I think it also did things better than some other zelda/metroid-esqe games as well

Ma nigga. This game is my favorite game on the N64, whereas I just can't get nearly as much enjoyment from the side-scrolling titles.

Everything Wario. Wario basically took Mario and made it about 1000x better for me.

MMBN is interesting to me. It's not bad, it's just extremely different and I applaud the originality. I don't know if I like it better than the original games, but I go as far to say that I love the world it's in.

Bomberman 64 and The Second Attack are the only Bomberman games I feel actually hold up as single player games today. I find the "normal" gameplay of Bomberman games terribly dull except for multiplayer.

I dislike the mainline Final Fantasy games but I have loved all the spinoffs. Tactics, Crystal Chronicles and the rest

Bomberman 64 is a puzzle/adventure type game though, it's not all about action. they're completely different designs.

While X-wing was great fun, TIE-Fighter was simply a masterpiece.

Crash Bandicoot 1-3 are really good, but CTR is a beast. Better than the other kart racers on the Playstation, and arguably of the competition too.
