I agree with you from a logical standpoint, suicide is terrible and looking at it from the outside what he did to his family is horrible. But speaking from experience depression will just kind of hit you and make you just really not give a fuck what you're doing to yourself or others. If you have no enemies fucking up your life ad the only person making you miserable is yourself then it's just depression and depression is only chemical imbalance that can be improved in tons of simple ways. People who know it's just depression and wallow in it and eventually kill themselves are beyond pathetic.

On the other hand if you're miserable because there are actually people you can directly point the finger at as responsible it may not be depression, your life may actually be completely fucked beyond recovery and at that point, killing spree makes way more sense than suicide.

Ergo, I automatically recognize suicidal thoughts as depression and change my habits to compensate. Homicidal thoughts, on the other hand I fully embrace and even sometimes lull myself to sleep with them.

I've been close to commiting suicide once. The main reason was that I was convinced I was just a burden on everyone else, and that the people I knew would be better off without a useless sack of shit like myself. I just wanted to do them a favor, as stupid as that sounds in retrospect. By murdering others, however, you end up hurting a lot more people than you would if you committed suicide. It's definitely not any more "logical".
