Imagine if Doki Doki Panic had become its own franchise. It could have been like the Donkey Kong Country or Yoshi's Island series, another Nintendo platforming series with it's own evolving set of conventions and such.

I didnt mind it, but I could never understand why it was given the Mario name outside of Japan.

Mario was about headbutting blocks, stomping on turtles, and crawling through pipes. Mario Mario Panic just didnt have that.

At least giving it the Mario name made Shy Guys apart of the mario franchise.
