Best rpg/strategy game for the snes, also best enix franchise of the 16-bits era.

>> No.2184991

Never liked the fact battles are automatic.

Anyone else has played this fantastic game?

Yeah, but thas give a more realistic feeling to the videogame, you know, like "I'm the general here, follow my orders!".

also the art is very cool for the early 90s

"realism" doesn't necessarily make for a fun game.

They didn't follow very well though, the commands were so damn vague

I preferred Tactics Ogre, even if it is just a glorified Beta for Final Fantasy Tactics

Tactics Ogre is better than FFT though.

If anything, FFT is Tactics Ogre for babies.

>> No.2185015

>Strong
attack highest hp enemy
>Leader
attack leader of enemy group if possible
>Weakest
attack lowest hp enemies.
>best
enemy that is capable of the most damage this battle

how is that vague

Deal with it ogrefags.

I love this game. My only problem with it (and tactics rpgs in general) is that its way to easy to see what your weaknesses are and account for them.

While the enemy is throwing out retarded groups like 2 F cleric and 1 B dragon, I'm constantly throwing the most logical and sound groups at it. It just never stands a chance.

Played it. Enjoyed very much, I think it is superb for its' time. All dat artefact/item management. All dem puppetmasters. Dat protag. Dem sidequest. All dat cash flow.
Have stopped after 4/5 regions, afraid to go bac, because forgot how to operate in the game.

I liked the automatic battles, also the card spells are the shiiiit

>In 2002, Quest was purchased by Square; although the purchase reunited some of Quest's developers with their former colleagues, it likely signaled the end of the Ogre Saga franchise as at Square Enix the former Quest staff continued to work on the Final Fantasy Tactics sequels Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 while the Ogre Saga creator Yasumi Matsuno left the company in 2005. Matsuno later reunited with his former team to help design and direct the PSP remake of Tactics Ogre on a freelance basis.

Did anyone play Ogre Battle 64? I never played MotBQ but I played PoLC and I liked it quite a bit even though the translation and story was pretty fucked.

I liked TO and FFT more gameplay wise. It would be nice if they could combine the S and TRPG games they made some how into improved gameplay all around.

>> No.2185920

>>2185015
To me, strong sounds like it would attack the enemy who can deal the most damage.

>> No.2185930

How is Ogre battle 64? It seems ok, and I i like playing 64 games, but can I do better?

>> No.2186429

>>2185920
I can see that.

Its almost always best to just use Best and Strong anyways. Using leader creates a bunch of headless chickens running all over the map and will waste a lot of decent attacks on Weak.

>> No.2186447

>>2186429
I usually used leader when I couldn't afford to lose that much fighting power by wasting units on the enemy

losing the leader weakens the entire unit by depriving its usual stat bonuses, then you can send a weaker unit that's being trained or some such and have them clean up the crippled remnants

you were always sending people on detours anyway to pick up treasures and do liberations and such
