Tail of the Sun for PS1. It sort of reminds me of the "tribal" phase of Spore on acid. You play as a tribe of cavemen that have to build a tower out of mammoth tusks high enough to reach the sun. And all the plant life you can eat is made of scanned pictures of Japanese junk foods.

Played this a lot on the arcade, always used the robot.

Fun ideas, interesting setting... but they shouldn't have stolen the entire system from RE, replacing guns for psychic powers that had awful delays to launch. You were encouraged to run through everything but then you had to tank bosses since it was fucking impossible to dodge their attacks or to land a hit without standing in place like an idiot.
