Did anyone else notice how good the arcade ports midway did for the N64 are? In some cases like NBA Hangtime, Cruisn World, Gauntlet Legends or MK4 they're practically arcade perfect

well she wasn't totally nude. she was naked but had black bars censoring her privates (and her eyes).

this code only worked in the early versions of the arcade game. No idea if any of the ports included this secret.

If I could own one arcade cabinet to have in my basement, I would have a hard time choosing between X-Men and Gauntlet Legends. GL is so fucking based and the console versions just didn't seem quite right.

It's because of the working relationship between Midway, Rare and Nintendo. Nintendo prioritized American developers, particularly Midway.

I remember doing the cheat in an arcade long ago

Basically, you pick second player, select Valkyrie, type in the code as 069 and your name as NUD.

There's also a cheat where you can play as a chicken. You pick any character and type in your name as EGG and your code as 911.

>> No.2161730

Maybe it was because those games were stored in chips instead of optical media in the arcade cabinets, and that might had made easy to port the games to the N64 since it used cartridges.

KI2 was alright. It had crazy, babby-easy combos that my younger brother and I could do with little practice, so it was more accessible than the first game. Kim Wu was one of my mains.

It just loses points for shallowness and taking out some fairly essential characters for no reason.

The character designs were all pretty hideous. All the females are identical facially.

I'm a sad person for knowing this: in KI Gold Orchid's thong turns into shorts for a frame or two when she does a sweep so she doesn't show bare ass to the camera. I take it the arcade version was different.

>PSX port: Completely different game, crazy physics nowhere to be found, looks like complete shit, no Alcatraz
>PC port: Needs a specific 3DFX card to run, speed and physics are completely fucked up on modern computers
>Midway Arcade Treasures 3 port: Changed music, messed up the physics AGAIN, PC version has a bug which cars blow up if they go over 200 mph

Now the N64 has fogging and the framerate isn't the best (on real hardware), but at the gameplay and most of the graphics are exactly intact as they were in the Arcade
