Art of Fighting 3 feels like it drew some inspiration from Virtua Fighter or early 3D fighters.

But at the same time, it has some unique stuff, such as the Ultimate KO attacks. It's kind of hard to understand what they were aiming for, but surely, a bold move from SNK.

I love Bull Chan. It's such a goofy concept but it looks so damn good in action. I also can't find any animations of it for the life of me. It kinda sorta appears in the first three games (if you count X as 2) but only the first game really makes it use its full sprites where it uses its turret, drives, falls, etc.

That's one bad sprite that stands out in a game full of amazing ones (Capcom did all of them, by the way --- SNK redrew nobody). Compare that to maybe two to five new sprites a year in a yearly series with a cast of 30+, for like ten years, with one exception. Think about that for a moment.

SNK's version of Sagat is my favorite incarnation of him. He manages to be a perfect balance between his two signature looks - not too skinny like the SF2 version and not too buff like the Alpha version. Makes you wish Capcom had used this design for his appearance in SFIV/all subsequent appearances.

The Capcom/SNK games were the coolest fucking things the two companies ever did, even if they both slacked terribly on some parts. In SVC Chaos' case it didn't help that the working code passed through like 3 different hands and a complete company collapse before it finally saw the light of day. All of the games are like half brilliance saddled with shit. It's a shame we'll probably never get something like them again. A CvsSNK 3 done like XIII or Xrd would melt our fucking faces but I doubt either company is willing to invest in that kind of work anymore. SNK appears to be going back to full 3D for whatever successor/sequel to XIII. I was really hoping we'd get a Dream Match in XIII's style.
