Please god use tabs for each system, it makes organizing it so much easier.

I have a template I use with the following:
Name, Owned (and how owned, CD/Cart/digital), Played? (as in I've popped it in and gave it a solid try), Beaten?, Beaten on Stream (in an effort to beat my entire library I'm trying to stream it as an incentive to go through everything), my priority level on the game (low/med/high), Cost(hidden), Condition(hidden, cart only, complete, document damages), Where I got it(hidden), then my thoughts prior to playing, initial thoughts (after 2-3 hours) and final thoughts upon completion.

I also document stuff I'm actively looking for as a wanted list, and stuff I'm trying to move in my for sale/trade section.

Google drive spreadsheet is where I do it because unlike a site like >>2137847 I can track whatever parameters I see fit.

Although I do use howlongtobeat to track my clear times, but I also do that in the games I've played on stream tab.

Making a spreadsheet is definitely a great way to easily reorganize. If you're sorting alphabetically, its really easy to just look at the sheet, grab the next game and put it in the next spots.

Make a text file in the rom directory with this in it: "dir /s /b > games.txt" (no quotes), then rename it to whateveryouwant.bat and run. It'll produce a "games.txt" file with all games listed with full paths (like "gaems\SNES\suoper maryo.smc"). Then open that in Excel and do "text to columns", seperated by slashes.

WA LA, a games list sorted by system.

Check this if you want to print out more than just the paths: http://ss64.com/nt/dir.html

I started using gamefags, it works fine. I just avoid the forums, It lets me track which version I have of each game too so it's actually pretty decent, I can also make a text file from their lists easy enough. My collection isn't as crazy as some peoples on here but here it is. I also like how I can see how many other people own the game too on gamefags.

I'm sorry anon, but this just seems like an awful way to categorize things. The only thing I like is the pictures of the games, but that's something incredibly low on my desired features for categorizing. Why use GameFaqs when there's Excel or the Backloggery?

Actually there is, an option for how much you have completed. And there is a way to view the list text only thats why I said it was easy to export, when I view it on my end it's a lot more comprehensive. The information on my "profile" that you actually see is pretty limited. Hell man there is even a notes section. It's far less work than excel. You can even give each game it's own rating and put in personal notes. I like having to click on each game to view stuff as it keeps your actual list less clutered.

>> No.2153849

I have a big Excel file with all the games I have in, order of preference, and all the games I want with separate list of the top five games I really want for each system. It also has an approximate ebay price range for each game when sold complete. The list of games I own also have color coded fonts telling me if I've finished them, tried them, or haven't even played them.

I stopped updating it though, it just became a complete pain in the ass to keep prices up to date and there's not much point now that Video Game Price Charting has started differentiating between loose and complete. I'd rather spend time playing games then listing the games I haven't played.
