Crash Team Racing for PSOne. The best racing game of all time IMO.

Toca World Touring Cars/Jarret & Labonte Stock Car Racing is one of my favourites.

>all cars can suffer damage, both visual and in performance - even some pieces of your car remain in the road during races
>good AI for a PS1 game, your rivals actually brake to not crash in your back and avoid you
>sunset/night/rain races
>great car controls
>yet simplistic, cockpit and hood views
>tracks from the whole world
>decent number of available vehicles for a PS1 game - it was the only racer I ever saw a Fiat Marea
>small playlist, but with catchy soundtracks (this is really subjective though)

This game is good as fuck, the only thing I can complain about it is the missing of Formula Ford from TOCA 2.

This is the third one. The first two games are better on PC though, and unfortunately there isn't a PC version for World Touring Cars.

Megarace with a joystick on PC was godly. When I found out that actual racing is just going in circles and not doing flips and shooting each other I was crushed.

I'm not sure, but I do believe gran turismo only supports analog braking/gas if you are playing with a steering wheel controller. Unlike the ps1 dualshock, ps1 dualshock doesnt have analog d-pad, buttons or shoulder buttons. Only the sticks are analog.

A fun game. Has the perfect balance of arcade but with a little realistic touch. It is not the braindead bullshit that doesnt even require you to brake that the series became. Has some fairly high challenge towards endgame. The sound effects are great, the graphics are good, altough there are a few frameskipping in the ps1 version, specially on multiplayer it is kinda annoying. It also features a weird techno soundtrack that was the rage in late 90s. Alongside nfs3, this is my favorite nfs, even with all the flaws.

Been replaying GT1 for the last few days. To this day the feeling of grip and traction is unsurpassed in video games for me.

I do have a hefty dose of nostalgia for it but gameplay is still objectively tight as fuck. Music, menu art style, manufacturer tunes, everything is fucking GOAT tier.

No need to apologize. V-Rally 2 was GOAT material. The track editor was so powerful almost all the single player tracks were made using it. Only some of the longer point to point stages were developer specifically (As the PS1 needed to stream in longer stages)

Dreamcast version removed the restrictions and was even more GOAT (Also 480P VGA support and 60FPS). Shame the online features they planned never made it with online track share
