Always wanted to play this. How similar is it to starfox?

Can I pick my path through choices or how I play the previous level?

You will probably like it if you like Starfox since it's an on-rail shooter, but it's a completely different monster. On Sin and Punishment it feels more like a mix of rail shooter and action game, you can use melee attacks and as already mentioned, the game even changes perspective and becomes a side-scroller later on, while still maintaining the gameplay.

It has no alternate routes, but it has a hard mode and an unlockable turbo/frameskip mode that makes the game faster and without slowdowns, thus making it a lot more harder than usual.

Kid Icarus NES goes from being a vertical sidescroller with wrap around the edge warp, to maze like dungeon levels, to being a horizantal sidescroller, and the last level is a shoot em up.
Its difficulty level is also backwards, most people cant beat the first 3 levels, and the game gets easier as you get upgrades. The first level is the hardest one.

Don't know if I would call it cuhrayzee, but it is one of my favorite games.

I'm surprised not that many people talk about Kid Icarus considering it's a pretty awesome action side-scroller. I also think the initial difficult barrier puts a lot of people off. Once you start getting more health bar and upgrade your arrows, the game becomes easier, you're right about the first levels being the hardest.

And I dunno if it's 'chrazey' but the new 3DS Kid Icarus Uprising seems to be similar to Sin and Punishment, I really want to play it.

but yeah, Kid Icarus needs more love.

This is my favorite 1st person perspective game ever. Doom can go suck it (I hope the doom general guys don't notice this post).
There's also Ghost in the Shell on the PS1 from the same developers which is also pretty crazy.

>>2120657
Never played the Gameboy one yet.

>>2120686

It means INSANE.

>>2120796
Yeah, it has really good animations and lighting effects, and it doesn't use the expansion pak.
It's also impressive how fast it can get, unlocking the frameskip mode to remove the slowdown is incredible, I think the game goes at locked 60fps.

I got into S&P because I loved SF64.

I liked the original, but I consider the sequel on Wii to be far superior, though people disagree.

Yeah, but Sony prefers to give us Knack instead.

>>2123474

Star Successor is amazing. I think some people complain about it being "too long", since on-rail shooters are typically made to be beaten in 1 hour. S&P2 is 3 or 4 times longer than the first.
I love both, I might like the first a little bit more, maybe because I played it first, but SS was certainly a worthy successor.

Yeah but it's not /vr/ since it's on the GBA.

Alien Soldier, Gunstar Heroes and Mischief Makers all seem like viable "cuhrazey" 2D games though, anything made by Treasure is usually filled with over the top action.

I fucking love this game so much. I've gotten way too used to left/right strafe though, takes me a bit to get used to left/right rotating again.

also, I kept fucking up at the bit where you have to get to the bombs and it drives me nuts.
