99 LP edition as promised from the previous Thread.

Previous Bread>>>>>2047636

>What is SaGa?
It's a Jrpg series produced by Akitoshi Kawazu back in the early Final Fantasy days, however it differs from most other Jrpg series by being more Wrpg oriented, it's non-linear, with multiple main characters, multiple endings and very unusual mechanics based on classic Tabletop RPGs
>What are the games?
The first SaGa games are known in the west as Final Fantasy Legends, so chances are you played those in your childhood on ye olde brick GB, then there is the Romancing SaGa trilogy on the SNES, the two SaGa Frontier titles on the PS One and Minstrel Song(a remake of the first Romancing SaGa) and Unlimited: Saga on the PS2.
>What are the games I can play in English
All the FFL titles were localized, same with the PS One and PS2 titles, there is also an english patch for Romancing SaGa 3 but unfortunately the first two titles are still in Japanese only, though there are already translation projects in the works.

The last thread got me inspired to play SaGa Frontier again. Beat Blue's route already and I'm prepping myself for a Riki run. I've already decided on my party but I can't remember from the last time I played: do you have to go to Tanzer straight after leaving Koolong for the first time? or can you bypass the conversation with Mei-Ling where she tells you about the next ring locations?

Tomomi Kobayashi like her girly shota. until you're 20 years old you're generally not allowed to look like a man for her, unless you're Gustav or Wil Knights, Wil was particularly manly for his age compared to most SaGa youngsters.

>> No.2087721

I just started playing Final Fantasy Legend. I guess it may have been because of the last thread. There are definitely a lot of interesting mechanics that I haven't seen in any other games. Having different growth methods for different classes is a good idea. I really don't like how the mutant's skills seem to change completely at random, but other than that, no complaints.

I'd like to get more into the series, as I'd previously only played around with RS3 a little bit. I saw in the last thread that an RS2 translation was supposed to be released "soon". Is there a translation for RS1 being worked on anywhere, or is the PS2 remake the only option for that one?

>> No.2087748

>>2087721
RS 1 is in like final beta testing, I think.

http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=18590.0

That being said, you should play the PS2 remake instead. RS1 is REALLY rough.

RS2 translation released soon? Nah, there's just a "we're totally working on it" update, but it's Gideon, he takes forever to get anything done.

>> No.2087757

>>2087721
Unfortunately you still have to wait for the first two RomaSaGa. You can however continue with the other two SaGa games on the GB and go onto Frontier as they share a lot of elements.
The Romancing series is still mostly in japanese and even then RomaSaGa3's translation is a bit wonky sometimes, it loses a lot compared to the original jap version.

The PS2 remake should be considered a different game from the original SNES title, they're wildly different mechanic wise.

I'm glad at least to see they're both being worked on. I believe someone mentioned an RS3 retranslation being released soon in the previous thread. It would be great to see the entire series finally available to play in English. I've been interested in the SNES titles for a very long time.

>> No.2087825

>>2087797
If you give EngineerCar the Tiger Program and an Octopus Board for Tiger Rampage, and get Leonard to learn PluralSlash, you really only need 2 mecs to use cannon-type weapons (with which you should use the ability "Magnify" instead of "Shoot-All") so you should really already have enough guns. T260G's quest throws a shitload of premium mec equipment at you anyway, you'll be fine if you search her character specific dungeons thoroughly enough.

The only other gun shops are at Nakajima Robotics and in the secret sewer area near the military defensive gear shop in koorong. They won't sell the super great cannons you want, but it might be a better idea to go to Nelson via Owmi and buy some warlord armors instead with your hard earned cash.

The warlord armor gives more VIT, costs less, and has better electric defense, which is important for mecs.

if anything it's best to have one of each, unless you can get spriggan suit or pluto armor.

So we know Kawazu has expressed his desire to deliver Romancing SaGa 4 "before he dies," that a new SaGa game is in fact in the works, and that SE is announcing a new console-oriented RPG in December which happens to be the 25th anniversary of the series. What are the odds a new proper SaGa game is revealed by the year's end?

RS3 RTB here. I've been working with Magno, the guy responsible for the Spanish translation, and we've discussed the possibility of translating one of the romhacks once RS3 is done. I'm vaguely familiar with them from YouTube videos but haven't played any and don't know what the differences between them are.

I can't promise anything at this point (we don't know how feasible it is from a hacking perspective), but if I were to do it, what romhack would you guys like to see the most?

Also I'll answer questions about the retrans if anyone is interested.

Assuming you already played RS3 in english then you should be fine. Gameplay is same with some elements added from other SaGa games. Weapon wazas shouldn't be a problem but there's more magic and it's better to know that it does. Events from other games aren't changed that much so if you have played SaGa games before then it might help you a little at least. The problem is where to go actually because even if they told you in game you wouldn't know because you can't read. There are walkthroughs on youtube and you can always post here so that should be fine. For gameplay problems you can always use patches that make game easier or cheat. If you decide to play then I can write some more detailed tips.

Well, there are 2 main hacks at the moment: aabeta and bokuno. aabeta is done and only has some additional patches but bokuno still gets new version every month. The obvious choice here would be aabeta unless bokuno gets finished soon (probably not). Of course bokuno is fully playable now, new versions just adds more events and they actually try to balance stuff (unlike aabeta where everything is broken including super hard bosses).

Basic difference between the hacks is that aabeta has more focus on gameplay/system elements (stuff like pic related, combo, skill, classes, etc.) while bokuno is more/better events and better looks (more updated sprites and waza/magic sfx) and is easier.

-Spark suitability mitigation (no idea, but this is also part of "easy game patches")
-basic magic spell is isolated and you spark some magic from it
-combined magic
-main hero change
-mastery upper limit changed (???)

The Business minigame can be a bit Tricky as you have to be a bit subtle, it's the perfect jew simulator though.
What I suggest you to do is begin to buy all the smaller activities and shops, begin with the independent ones and then proceed on buying the others tied to the bigger companies, that will not only increase your revenue but decrease the other companies' revenue too giving you a great advantage in the long run.
The Army Minigame is really only relevant if you play as Mikhail and it's a bit more specific since most battles are different and require a different strategy, all I can say is manage your formations and commands well and learn how to exploit the momentum, remember that killing the leader of an army almost always equals to victory by default, though some times you should focus on pressuring them and switching to full defense rather than being aggressive.

Fire for Soul Song (increases offensive stats), Moon for Shadow Servant. Maybe Earth for Antimagic but that's situational use. Other combined magic is not that useful or is used for damage dealing. Global healing speels take all your JP AND 1 LP, too much cost so I never used them. Dragon Ascend can be dispelled, Simulacram is meh, Reviver is okay? not sure if it can be dispelled, never bothered with Wall of Light, Quick Time takes all your JP, Parhelion is okay
You want everyone to use some magic at least for healing (sun water and wind has best single heals).

>>2089416
Red - Alkaiser is awesome, gets stats and def boost after transformation and his hero waza hits like a truck. It's based on your matrial arts level, will and str stats
Ginny can later get Night Hunter(shadow servant custom spell) but you have to let Cordelia die in Alexei event
For Albert, he gets his cosplay late (Mirsa Sword) which gives him +7 to his will and Mirsa Sword has it's waza (Leftyfork).

>> No.2089451

>>2089448
Leftyfork is of course based on will stat.
Forgot that Ginny also has cosplay (Brimslavas??? I think it was Eternity Staff in SF2).
For last party member, maybe someone magic focused? Dealing damage with magic is possible (Crimson Flare, Galaxy, Tempest, etc.)

SaGa fighting game: Genocide SaGa

You will need AppLocale to play it; right click and choose the option Run with Japanese Locale as Administrator.

Sadly this is the only accessible version, and this is an earlier one, the later one had Sharon from SaGa 3 and Fullbright from Romancing SaGa 3. The original creator's site is long gone though...

Some interesting things about the game:

Victor is a reanimated corpse (Weak to Monica's Southern Cross and can use Shadow Magic)

They made the Chainsaw be able to kill SaGa 1 God like in the original game.

Haniwa uses Seven Branch Sword as one of his specials

You can switch Noel's abilities between Sword and Fists, With fists he can use Heat Hand and Red Dragon Wave, while in Sword mode he can use Moonshades

One of Dion's specials is that he can self-destruct, however it will count as a loss for the player using Dion if player does not kill enemy with that special.

Board won't let me post the link to the download site because it registers as spam.

Maybe I should write about some events that can be missed
SaGa 2 treasure quest: First you talk to guy in Pidona port (green guy), then when you rescure Fairy you also have to get Angel Wings in other tent (can be easily missed). Also you have to do 2 trade missions BEFORE you see any abyss gate to get Thunder Magi.
Defeat Byunei with Gwayne, otherwise the village will be permanently lost.
Not sure but I think you better give professor her pets or she might not hive you Agility Magi later.
Before your MC has 512 HP, you have to do main part of Asellus event (up to passing Dream Gem to Asellus) and Defeat Queen in Vanguard then talking to old man in Pidona about Ants.
Also the small event where you talk to Sheryl then you have to visit Adiris and talk to Poet in Akuba Pass.
Part of Emelia event needs 2nd Zweig Tournament so you can't close 4 Abyss Gates before that.

Dividing magic is troublesome but you can always switch later (your level is saved but you can't use it). Also remember that default setup is wind or earth, fire or water and sun or moon. SF2 people can use wind earth fire and water but can't use sun and moon. Also some combination magic will require you to have sun or moon spells.

Also with Katarina you should at least train some foil/spear level for the Holy King Spear buff, you will be using that later.

You're already doing God's work bro.
As someone who played through Jap and Eng RomaSaGa 3 I can only praise you for your effort and dedication.
If I can make a suggestion do take care in translating properly the characters' speech inflexion, most of the times they sounded very robotic in the patch, Harid and Mikhail are probably the worst offenders, though I know it's a difficult task I'd love to see them speaking as they do in Japanese.
Of course certain parts won't be easy or be impossible to properly translate, Harid's flashback with the princess comes to mind, other parts were done pretty lazily and most of the lore was a bit butchered as well.

I'm rooting for you translationbro, keep fighting the good fight.

I chalk up a lot of the inflexibility of the Mana Sword translation to character limits, but this time around we're using variable width text, which means a lot more text per line and way more room for meaty dialogue. I'm definitely being mindful of speech patterns, and a lot of nuance in particular was lost with all of the prairie tribe dialogue (the Neft for example have an interesting speech pattern which I think is supposed to convey that the translation helmet isn't perfect). There are also a lot of triggers to check and alter dialogue based on who the main character is and how many people are in the party, but most of these were removed from the MS translation. My goal is to add these back in where I can, but a lot of that will be fine-tuning for a later release.

Sadly, as I'm sure you know, too much of the translation is just plain wrong. However, not all of the stiff-sounding dialogue is the fault of the translation; in truth, a good amount of the Japanese script is just bland to begin with. The writing improves with bigger chunks of dialogue and story-related scenes, but even after I exercise my creative license you'll still end up with lines like "I'm the Mayor" (which itself is a joke among Japanese SaGa fans). Don't worry though, I'm doing my best to give it the translation it deserves. You won't be disappointed.

You got my message perfectly, and yeah, most people won't be able to get the Kidlant's Mayor meme unless you explain it, but that's of course part of the Japanese community's culture rather than the game itself.

You know, I'd really like to work on a RomaSaGa 2 translation script once I get some free time, that game is too good to be left in the shadows like this, but that requires quite the effort considering how much certain dialogues change due to the non-linearity of the game and the number of characters.

There's not really a definite story as in most SaGa games, the seven wonders are monuments from a lost age that house powerful relics or powers and some people want to use those for their own ends.
Laura is babysitting Henry, Ventus is searching for his brother's killer, Mythe is literally looking for his waifu, Judy is looking for his family members and the secret of the ultimate magic tablet, Armic wants to help his tribe by recovering the secret to the Rain ceremony, Kurt just wants to get that goddamn cursed gauntlet off him and Ruby wants to discover the secrets behind her sister's visions.
Ruby is perhaps the character with most world lore due to having based Iskandar as party member, so if you want the most out of the setting's story play her quest.

I think it varies on how much boss HP will scale if you're battling a lot or not very much, but generally running around avoiding as much battle as possible and stealing treasures until your team is decently outfitted is part of the gameplay.

Only SF2 and Unlimited Saga aren't really like that.

Holy shit, why is Cordelia so good? She's constantly sparkling arts out of nowhere.

Also, I have a question, someone spoiled me and said that she can die permanently later in the game but there's a way to prevent it?

You have to be really stupid to get her killed and essentially completely lack common sense, but I won't spoil it for you if that's what you do.

Spears might be the best weapon type in SF2 and Cody has... that thing you know

There's usually one female character who just seems really disproportionately good at a lot of things in SaGa games and doesn't seem to have any weaknesses.

In SF you get Liza, in Minstrel Song you get Barbara, in RS3 you get Ellen

All of them are really good at Martial Arts

Anyway you should give Cody some Water, Sound, and Tree Tools, and a Fire Tool for good measure. Fire-Water-Thrust-Thrust makes an amazingly good tech. Try to spark it in a duel.

If you have water and sound and tree on her Cody can spark a lot of really good water arts, she's the only one good at it out of Wil's starting group, and her thunder spells are excellent for combos.

Yes, although I've heard there's a bug that makes it so that eventually you can't if you do it too many times... but I don't know the specifics.

There are a few exceptions like Boston in case you didn't save the Island of the Limit and I think Nora in case you put her to work as a blacksmith

Weird because Shinon is always on map in Bokuno

Can't say which hack is better, I think both have their good sides. But for gameplay is definitely aabeta. Some features that are in aabeta and not bokuno: detailed weapons, combo, pursuit (after combo attack), position change during fight, separate evades menu, mode change, SF2 Roles, LP Break, LP consumption (you can use stuff even if you have 0 wp), Skills, Classes, T260G/Riki mechanics, custom icon for every item (not gameplay but it's a nice thing). aabeta is pretty harsh at times, one event failed and it will release the chain of terminated events. And it's much easier to fail event in aabeta than bokuno. If you want to actually finish aabeta, you need the best items in game. Also more items are rare drop/steal only from bosses and of course you can only know this from wiki.

Does it happen on a specific turn/damage threshold? Can you defend it? Standard strategies are using regenerations to keep your HP near max and using Reviva or Shadow Servant or Dragon Riser to soak the deathblow, you might also be able to reduce the damage with enough defense. In Saga Frontier terms I believe it was an Electric/Force spell, though a slash/blunt/cold aspect is possible.

Try decreasing his Int/Wil throughout the battle instead of just trying to blitz him as well.

Magnetic Storm is Electric / Force, yes.

Here's some armor with noteworthy defense against Electric and Force, and how much defense against them they'll give you. Though I don't know what you have or can get, right now.

(Electric Def / Force Def)

Shade Robe (24 / 24)
Master Robe (25 / 25)
Stardust Robe (51 / 26)
Celestial Leather (34 / 24)
Harmonium Armor (20 / 40)
Electro Armor (35 / 35)

Cyber Suit (21 / 21)
Rubber Suit (52 / 12)
Powered Suit (30 / 30)

Mysticwear (21 / 21)
Harmonium Bangle (27 / 27)
Rubber Shoes (25 / 2)
Wind Shell (15 / 25)
Bolt Crystal (25 / 1)
Thunder Charm (1 / 100)

All mec bodies are pretty weak against Magnetic Storm, because it plays off of their naturally low Electric and Force stats. Most mec bodies have their defense values set at:
Slash: 10
Blunt: 10
Pierce: 15
Fire: 10
Ice: 10
Electric: 5
Force: 5

...except for the Fort Body, which has 20 / 20 / 30 / 20 / 20 / 5 / 5.

>> No.2092393

>>2092316
Yep, the game is pretty misleading about it, because the "Defense" value displayed in the menu is actually just the item's Slash-type defense rating. Even items with low displayed Defense can have really high resistances to other attributes.

http://globe90.tripod.com/sfarmor.html

Here's a list that covers all the different defense attributes. Also, keep in mind that the Thunder Charm is supposed to have 100 Electric resist, but due to a bug, has 100 Force resist instead. This is arguably better, because the majority of spells that don't fall under Fire / Ice / Elec are Force-based.

>> No.2092408

>>2092393
Oh, I forgot to mention...

In the case of attacks that have more than one attribute (like Magnetic Storm's Elec/Force, mentioned earlier) or combo attacks involving multiple attributes, the game checks for the lowest defense value among those attributes.

So, if you've got 5 Elec defense and 100 Force defense, Magnetic Storm's going to hit really damn hard, because it's only checking the lowest defense rating of the two.

It is already a free-roaming RPG, why not take it further?

The battle would still be turn-based but you'll now have to contend with moving and positioning your characters in a 3d environment, considering the distance between themselves, their allies and their enemies in order to attack or use skills and magics.

You're confusing free-roaming with non-linear. Also the importance of formations and party positioning is already a thing in the series, so I don't know what you're talking about. If you wanted to expand SaGa's key concepts into another genre, the next logical step would be a tactical RPG. You're trying to mix and match things that would cause SaGa to lose its identity; the resulting game would have no reason to be called SaGa.

You could turn SaGa into a real-time squad based Tactical RPG with monsters appearing directly on the field. Imagine that you would move your entire team in formation based on the leader's position, and would have both auto battle based controls and fixed preplanned attack and defensive patterns that you would queue up to initiate combos or fill common strategies.

Like think of instead of making every character use reviva and shadow servant or whatever, just press L2, instead of having everyone heal and recover statuses, press R2, then the fastest character heals the one with the lowest HP, next character keeps healing or removes status effects, then when your hp is high enough and everyone has regen, it defaults back to the attack pattern set, which is itself customized to automatically try to use your best combo or techs to match the type and weakness of the enemy. Press select, bring up the quick formation menu and reshape it on the fly.

It wouldn't be like all the other SaGa games but that's okay because it would be better.

SaGa frontier is incredibly broken in terms of getting cash.

Talk to junk shop owner in scrap. Buy items, then choose to sell and select and confirm selling of Hyperion bazooka, and then check the scrap pile to find that you have 7 choices, as long as you do not leave the shop, you can repeat that. Sell the swords you find in the shop at Nakajimas.

Get 15K credits and buy Gold Ingots at Nelson at a fixed price, Go to Koorong and into the Ingot seller (the building just outside of the port). Choose sell, press down 'till you have no more Ingots left and then go back up to 30.
Notice the rise in price. When you press down 'till it hits zero again, you'll see that he's offering you a price almost twice the amount you should actually be getting. Confirm to sell and repeat the process. The max Ingots you should sell is 52, and if you do this trick by selling more than that amount of ingots, you'd still
end up with the same amount you should be getting with 52 ingots

If you want the best purchasable weapons in the game, there is a manhole in Koorong that has shops with exceptionally high quality weapons and equipment. They sell Zero Swords, Lethal Guns, and PoweredSuits.

>You could turn SaGa into a real-time squad based Tactical RPG with monsters appearing directly on the field.
That's TLR
and would have both auto battle based controls and fixed preplanned attack and defensive patterns that you would queue up to initiate combos or fill common strategies.
That's exactly what I didn't like about TLR, too little control on the fight, it was just like RomaSaGa 3 Commander mode, but at least in Sarah's playthrough you can issue both type of commands even in Commander mode during the last fight, so you have a much better degree of control.
> automatically try to use your best combo or techs to match the type and weakness of the enemy.
Nah, that's easy modo shit that doesn't belong in SaGa.
>but that's okay because it would be better.
Not really, most people who played SaGa didn't really like TLR's battle system mainly because of the aforementioned reasons, too little control and not enough focus on the metagame, TLR was technically a great JRPG but even as a spiritual successor to SaGa it's nowhere near as deep and fun to exploit.

Adding a specific menu for inputting specific strategies during battle would not be a big deal. I'm sure you could have boss fights or specific enemy formations that require a greater degree of control, but even most of a SaGa game isn't what you said, it's mostly spamming the same attacks over and over through countless battles attempting to finish them as fast as possible while using different attacks only to spark new waza or grind certain stats.

Automating that sort of shit outside of battle and only having to use a greater degree of control during tougher more focused fights would be a great improvement, especially for those of us who don't actually want to spend a shitload of time grinding.

You could even build a metagame on top of that about managing resources like WP/JP/LP and weapon durability while attempting to quickly chain fights on the battlefield to increase rewards. Maybe even have special encounters with stronger enemies available if you chain enough battles quickly enough, something like Abyss Bat done right

I don't know about that, the thing I like about SaGa is that it's something like full manual input, no tips or suggestions whatsoever and the fact that you have to make your strategies on the fly.
> it's mostly spamming the same attacks over and over through countless battles attempting to finish them as fast as possible while using different attacks only to spark new waza or grind certain stats.
I don't agree with this, first of all because what you said is basically what happens once you're gone full meta and you know what does what and what Waza sparks the best high tier Waza, grinding stats is a remnant of the old SaGa games on GB and I wish it will never appear again as a mechanic because it promotes grinding.
> especially for those of us who don't actually want to spend a shitload of time grinding.
The only time I spend grinding is for getting items such as Magic Tablets or specific rare drops in RomaSaGa 2, there's no need to grind at all if you know what you're doing unless you want to take on 10 fatestone Saruin or want to do a solo run and that takes us back to playing metagame again.
>You could even build a metagame on top of that about managing resources like WP/JP/LP and weapon durability while attempting to quickly chain fights on the battlefield to increase rewards
Well, MinSon tried that and I must admit it's not a bad idea, though it should be focused on item drops more than anything else imho.
>Maybe even have special encounters with stronger enemies available if you chain enough battles quickly enough, something like Abyss Bat done right
Again, MinSon and Unlimited already did that to a degree.
Abyss Bat is a bullshit boss though, kinda like awakened Jewel Beast, but at least you can cheese the latter in a lot of ways instead of only having to use Overdrive or grind HP like mad.

Metal Black was a really good and intimidating rival to Red in his quest, a cold calculating machine with a philosophical bent to him, an antithesis to Red's passion and sense of justice.

His whole quest has a real Go Nagai feel to it that I really liked.

The Egg almost has an Eldritch horror thing going on to it that I honestly think the series needs more of, other enemies are always too human or more like forces of nature, an enemy that is in too many ways -neither- is quite interesting.

Genocide Heart is pretty good but it's really a cut and dry ancient weapon of methodical destruction, it makes the perfect ultimate enemy for a heroic robot, but its not really -that- interesting.

Arsenal.

I know it's probably a bit lame, but it was the first final boss of the first rpg I owned myself, so I still have nostalgia from those childhood memories of imagining my party fighting this super powered death machine. I also like the sense of urgency since the world is literally falling apart and the only thing standing in your way is this haywire security system. It also plays a nice contrast with just about all the other bosses in the game. Before you had been fighting supposed gods but the last major enemy is anything but. It's just a killing machine from a gone-by era and it absolutely FIRES THE SMASHER pounds on your team. I also liked the remake interpretation, even if it having humanoid forms was a bit cheesy.

The Egg was also pretty interesting and even frightening for what it was. I still remember getting a bit of a shiver when it turned those poor saps into slimes. I like how it played a contrast to Gustav in the story, despite the two never actually meeting.

There's no easy way, you just have to take it like a man and have a dedicated mage that chews through Spell proficiency levels.

You can "cheat" regarding your emperor's proficiency levels by abusing the Heritage magic mechanic, keep on grinding with a mage and then after a few generations make one of your mages(possibly a tactician for maximum exploit) an Emperor and BAM, 20/25 levels of three magic types in one go.
>>2110898
I usually go with Femperor, Hannibal(Black Imperial Guard), a female Holy Order/Amazon, Privateer and an Iris or a Tactician. if you have guts you can solo with Femperor and the Amethyst Axe setup, but that requires a lot of planning since the beginning of the game since you need certain high tier combination spells and a very good axe level and waza.
Problem is, the final boss is REALLY hard, it gets seven turns in a row when it can use any of the Seven Heroes skills and has more than 100000 HP, you have to git gud if you want to survive the inevitable onslaught of Temptation+Kamaitachi/Heat Hand+Soul Steal+Psychobind+Marionette+Grand Slam+Maelstrom in one turn.

Kinda forgot to include a reply in the previous post, but Femperor has better INT and comes with the Moonlight Sword sword equipped, which allows you to use Noel's Moonshades signature move, I do think she also has a better Dark Magic counter than Manperor, Manperor has tons of STR that rivals with motherfucking Hannibal, that alone is definitely impressive, he has the Day Blade equipped and due to a glitch he's the only character that can spark a certain waza on a late game mace, making him possibly the best all around weapon user in the game.

Both are type 14 Sparkers which means they're pretty good with one handed swords, but don't even think about getting to the last gen without having mastered most of the high tier waza anyway.

It's generally a good idea, yes, gives access to a neat new area with a bit more plot exposition and money, and you must not say no to money in RomaSaGa 2, I'd reccomend you kill the Stone Guardian before dealing with Rocbouquet so she won't fight you at all and go straight onto the temple, she'll even say thanks for that.
> I doubt I'll be able to trigger Subier over her and I beat all of the others barring Leon
If you've completed the Garon quest(the one with Enrique asking you to retake their base) than Subier is already triggered, do the second Garon quest by going to the town near Mermaid and tolk to Maria, the little girl in the pub, she'll mention that a ship relic has been sighted near town and that Subier is probably behind the recent seastorms in the region, once you finish this quest there's a chance Subier will appear as you exit the sunken ship, otherwise Maria will give you his whereabouts anyway, he's in the South pole region, you can get there from the Saigo Village region, but if I'm not mistaken you can directly take a ship to go meet Subier in the same town Maria is.

Otherwise you'll have to build the bridge in Miramar and wait for him to destroy it but I'm not sure whether there's a specific event related to that.

One last thing regarding Subier, his second form is very nasty, so you might want to not kill the Ocean King(the Narwhale monster) if you meet him during the Miramar bridge events or as random encounter as it will make Subier go into his second form, he can also go in his second form if you wait too long to kill him or if he's the last hero left by the end of the game.

Well, you can always recruit Hannibal again by killing off Imperial Guards until he spawns so that's not a big problem.

Yeah, that's how things work in SaGa.

Everything's hidden.

Unlimited just gives you more hidden tools, whereas TLR gives you the illusion of having more control but int truth it's just more random than Unlimited.

Take the simple Battle commands for instance, while TLR gives general directives that can be more or less customized by letting a character tap into a pool of skills more or less randomly Unlimited gives you tons of modifiers to narrow down an already very precise pool of actions, all of this while using reels that you can stop wherever you want depending on how good your reflexes are.

TLR is way more random than Unlimited all things considered.

There will be a live performance by Kenji Ito and "the state of the series" which will presumably ne a lot of talk about Emperors SaGa and whatever crossover events they have planned for the future, and if a new game announcement is ever going to happen that will probably be when.

Good job Anon, if you fell like not using Quicktime you can also try to tank a bit by alternating Wall of Flames and Light Sword, the problem is that one overrides the other, Wall of Flames is great to cockblock Maelstrom and Fire spells and Light Sword is good for Kamaitachi, so you neuter most of the All target Attacks, Grand Slam and Psychobind are still there though.
