And here we are. Transition Lakes, a scenario with a lot of room to expand, a small research tree, and extra land for sale.

I decided to go with a park value objective instead of guests or ride tickets. I avoided guest count objectives because 700 park value can be a drag, and I avoided ride tickets because I use that for most of my scenarios.

So I had an idea for a park, but I'm stuck on a small detail.

I've been playing a shitton of Binding of Isaac recently and I thought it'd be cool to have a "hell"-themed park.
My idea included to have coasters named after the 7 deadly sins, and make the coasters all have traits to fit the sin they are, but I just can't think of anything for Lust.
Anyone have any ideas?

This is... actually a really good idea.

Also, I forgot Gluttony too, because I'm stupid and can't count to 7. And, surprisingly, is hard to think up an idea for it, too.
I was thinking of just having a really long coaster all condensed into a small area. that's really all I can think of.

>> No.2094924

I expect wrath to break your neck.

>> No.2094930

>>2094924
You're right on Wrath, but it's not going to be way too intense, just try to get it a little above 10 and that's it.
Greed will be just very expensive to get on, but not be a Goyim Machine (Though, that'd be funny as fuck)
Pride will be a coaster with a high max build height and make the first drop very big compared to the rest of the coasters.
Sloth will be a relatively slow Kiddie coaster.
Envy will be a small wooden coaster, smaller than the other steel coasters

Gluttony and Lust have yet to be determined

What about for the Gluttony coaster, what if it was Nausiating, but also hard to look at? Like, not because it's bright or anything, but because some of the elements of the ride look painful or stupid? Like not banking some turns, not having smooth drops, stuff like that?
Or should I stick to the more obvious one and surround the coaster in food?

To explain my reasoning further, for someone who has been taken over by gluttony, they'd be fat, unkempt, and just plain unsightly, right? They just have no idea how to keep themselves in check, and I kindof want the coaster to reflect that sort of image. Unsightly and painful to look at.

Actually yes, believe it or not. So do Block Brakes.
But as soon as the rolled-back train touches the block brakes that are holding another train, the rolled-back train just gets nudged forward at like 2 mph, after going though like 7 4mph brakes.
It's not a very clean system, but I'd rather this than kill 100 people because the trains FUCKING EXPLODE when they come in contact with each other.

Holy shit, get this.
I was testing the coaster for a while to see if I can get that rollback scenario to happen, and the coaster broke down with a Safety Cut-Out, which is the thing I wanted to happen.
The train along the launch lift hill didn't keep going after the breakdown, no, it just instantly went from 100 mph to 0, and was just stuck there. The Mechanic fixed it and the train started accelerating again like it were at the start of the launch and it did roll back, but the lift hill kept pushing it back up the hill. So unless there's a breakdown status that completely disables any effect the list hill has on the train, rolling back into the station won't be an issue.

>>2102045
Yeah, that's what happens with my launch coasters. I'm actually not even sure if the coaster can make it all the way back to the station at a speed that would cause a crash because I think the chains slow it down at the same speed they accelerate the coaster at so it would never have a chance to make it back there unless there was some freak breakdown or something.

It'd be neat to have proper launch sections with OpenRCT

>> No.2102071

I was trying reverse freefall type coasters with chain lift launches a while back. The chain removes as much energy as it adds in the opposite direction, with a powered launch needed to compensate for friction losses for the train to return to the station.

From the ASTM guidelines: 5-6Gs would be acceptable for short durations. Note that this is for a roller coaster seat and restraint, and this specific G force limit would be Acceleration Gs or the equivalent of the force you feel laying down on a flying coaster (so in this case the force you feel pushing down on you on a bodyslide).

The G force limits would definitely change with waterslides but I don't want to pay $40 to find out exactly how. Because of the lack of restraint and the freedom of motion, I don't think 6 Gs would be allowable, especially because you don't want people blacking out right before they splash into a pool of water. Pretty sure Action Park wouldn't have given a shit either way. It'd be interesting to see those specs, though.

And I love that gif, that's exactly how Verruckt would have been with its intial hill design, except you would go airborne at 80 feet in the air. EXTREME.

I actually thought about this too. Hopped into NoLimits yesterday and built a 40m loop with the closest coaster type.
All you need is a flying coaster with good upstop wheels and well designed seats and you can have the worlds first save circular loop.
It doesn't even reach 5g.
Man I should mail this to some amusement parks and check their reaction.

About the waterslides though. Jea looks like banging the head on it is inventable. Even if you reach -1g at the top someone will still lift their head from the wall just enough to get it banged back when it goes to 6g again. I doubt that one would go unconcious due to the blood getting sucked out of the head (remember you are laid down) but more from the impact onto the slide.

By the looks of it, it's a startup by people from other studios. RCT:W is the only game listed as what they've done, but they have an internship program which assumes they've done more.
After a bit of digging, it looks like they mainly deal with online & mobile stuff, so I can assume that the 'next phase' is the online implementation and such.

"When Atari announced RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile, they promised that a full PC experience is coming. The game was officially announced during Gamescom 2014 with a teaser trailer, subtitled World. The first screenshots and details of the game was revealed during PAX Prime 2014. Leaked info mentions that the original RCT creator, Chris Sawyer will be consulting in the development process of RollerCoaster Tycoon World. The games development was recently hit with a change of developer from Pipeworks Software to Area 52 Games. At this time it is unknown as to why this has occurred, some speculate Area 52 Games Could be doing the multiplayer aspect of the game While Pipeworks Software Developed the single player aspect. However Pipeworks software has deleted all information of the game from its websites and Fan pages and their company logono longer included promotional material. This could imply that Pipeworks Software are no longer involved in the creation of the game. The game is currently due for release in early 2015 although it has been announced they will not announce an official launch date until closer to game release.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RollerCoaster_Tycoon_World

Would take with a grain of salt though. I think Sawyer denied any relation to RCT4M and RCTW.

Actually, no, because it's in the first block brake section after the initial chain lift. If there is a safety cut-out forcing the train to stop, the train which is waiting for this block section is on the first lift hill, which means it is stopped as well.
