Is there a decent port for Mac OSX?

Have they fixed it yet so it doesn't ruin your HD by constantly writing to it every tick?

Seriously though, I haven't bothered with Mugen for a good long while, I stopped around the time the HD stuff started coming out. What's new?

An assortment of character AIs and/or minor Edits.
AIs derived from Robert_C_Arrange:
Eiji, Duo Lon, Kasumi, Athena, Double-A, Elisabeth, Mr. Karate, Kensou, Syo.
Ash's AI was derived from Violent Ken's by Vans, and Maxima was derived from beppu's Maxima.
Inadvertently included JS_MrKarate-XI in the archive (rar)

Also, added Sander's Ramon's strikers to his Kyo's and then Kyo's resultant to his Terry.
Command files for some characters were edited because I just couldn't pull some moves off with this keyboard. Added some custom states to some characters for AI's advantage.

I noticed that character portraits in 1.0 get affected by PalFX whereas they don't 1.1, anyone knows why's that?

One last thing, anyone knows good KoF 'anthological' characters like Sander's Kyo & Terry or Syu Takazaki's Characters?

I love MUGEN, and I wish the community would cooperate more. I hate that there's no up-to-date resource for characters/stages outside of specific forums that track their own members' projects, I hate that those forum posts are often blocked from users without registered accounts, and I REALLY hate that promising-looking projects die because some asshat didn't like someone else using the sprites he stole/edited from stolen sprites.

>> No.2103641

Mugen always feels like a amateur, low quality, stitched together game.

>> No.2103667

>>2103641
It is amateur and stitched together. It's also really fun.

Quality depends largely on the characters/stages you have and your subjective opinion of how a fighting game should be. It's not balanced for tournament play, but it's still really fun to beat up your friends as any character you could imagine.

>> No.2103668

>>2103641
That's because it's not a game. It's just an engine. People make random stuff for it and other people take those random things and shove them together.

1. Do not host or upload characters anywhere, that includes your Angelfire webspace, e-mail, Rapidshare, and Archive.org.
2. Do not modify characters and do not copy coding/sprite material without the creator's permission, even if they are no longer active in the scene or even alive.
3. Do not request characters, and do not inquire about characters you see on select screens posted by people who demand that you not request said characters.
4. Do not distribute characters given to you privately by your friends and do not reveal "secret" links to characters hosted on public webpages, this is what is considered to be "leaking of private material".
5. Do not create patches for characters, including AI patches, palette packs, and DOS/Linux/WinMugen/old-Mugen-version compatibility patches.

>> No.2103831

6. Do not unpack moleboxed Mugen games and take characters from within, this is what is considered to be "warez".
7. Do not release open-source sprite packs, and do not reveal the methods of ripping from certain games.
8. Do not report character releases on news sites and message boards.
9. Do not post screenshots and YouTube videos of characters.
10. Do not ask for and download old versions of characters.
11. Repeat rules 1-10, only replace the offended creator with the offended spokesperson of the creator.
12. Do not release or edit characters unless you are a member of a Mugen "team", and do not post release threads anywhere other than at the aforementioned team's forum.
13. Do not disregard feedback in character release threads, do not post release threads if you do not desire feedback, do not wait more than 0 seconds from the initial posting of said feedback to apply bug fixes and balance fixes, and do not use your egotism as a weapon.
14. Do not create customized or original-styled characters, everything must be accurate and play exactly like the game source with no hint of originality whatsoever.
15. Do not guess on velocities, timings, and collision boxes, and do not neglect extracting accurate said data using advanced game-hacking tools.
16. Do not attempt to create a character unless you have accumulated a minimum of 10 years experience in playing every fighting game and mastering every character in existence.
17. Do not create characters from KOF XIII and BlazBlue nor characters with "godly-looking" sprites and no "tournament-friendly" gameplay, like SeanAltly's characters, unless you are a certified Mugen converter, have followed all of the above rules, or are an IRC Mugen regular that complains everyday about stupid people in the Mugen community yet continually find ways to get mocked severely on this very page.

I seriously got to 14 before I realized this was satire and not an actual code of ethics that the MUGEN community consciously follows. MUGEN forums are actually like this, which is a shame, because the game itself is really fun, and more content COULD be happening all the time if they would just share their toys with the other kids.

MUGEN's "creators" (hah) "authors" "coders" (MY SIDES) generating endless drama is the very worst part of anything even remotely related to MUGEN, it's the cancer that both sustains and kills it

A bunch of self-important e-celebrities ripping sprites out of SNK games and making some data files for a DATA-DRIVEN ENGINE and CALLING THEMSELVES "CODERS", doing all sorts of circlejerking for muh god-given respect and demanding that you provide said respect OR ELSE. COPYRIGHTING their shitty characters and threatening to quit the moment someone shares them, spinning copyright laws with their e-lawyer degrees. fucking circles acting as if they have sway with entire FORUMS and dictating their rules, getting their faggot lackeys to go shitpost if someone so much as mentions a "private" character. can't even educate people about how "tools of the trade" work, shit like "sprite ripping" is top secret stuff that nobody but the ELITEST are to know about.

Nothing but pure scum.

The notion of these beyond retarded subhumans calling themselves anything that resembles "programmers" TRIGGERS me in the most retarded SJW sense. It should be illegal to be this scummy.

I honestly can't believe how the community allowed itself to be fucked in the ass so deep by a bunch of insecure angsty teenagers and their quest for e-respect because it's the only power they'll ever have in their sad lives. So what if they created a shitty character? that's literally children's past time kids. NOTHING to be proud over. if these angsty kids would just leave already, NOTHING of value would be lost. actually value would be gained because the community would be free of such parasitic scum.
