It really builds on some of the more annoying parts of x4/5 with even more talking during missions, and gathering reploids for the upgrades was kind of silly.

I mean, I don't think it was complete shit (especially when you look at x7...), but every game that came before it was better, so it tends to end up at the bottom of lists.

There's a lot of things I love about 3, but the game feels unpolished and unfinished at times.

It was a very mediocre game.

I was playing X1 from the Megaman X collection on PS2 just recently, and I grew up playing X5 and X6 as my first 2D Mega Man games. I can't tell exactly why, but I enjoyed X1 way better than X5-6. X1 feels more challenging, I guess, and I like the level design better.

X will always have a special place in my heart because it was my very first Mega Man (yes I did have a NES but I never even saw Mega Man in stores, not being in the US and all).

I've been playing Xtreme recently on my 3DS, I'm at the Hard Mode Boss Rush now... And Chill Penguin gave me the second most trouble out of any boss in that game(Storm Eagle's gets first place due to always spamming the wind move when the controls make it hard for me to dash). The controls hurting my thumb when I tried to jump and charge, and the impressively high damage he dealt anytime he hit me making me die in 3 or so hits(no heart tanks), made him WAY harder than he has any right to be.
