I actually like that, because if you don't need it, you just wait 2 seconds and they disapear. Sometime a powerup/subweapon blocks the way, when you break a chest by accident when fighting.

also you can't drop anything without it losing any modifications you might have applied, or it being outright destroyed, combine this with the relative scarcity of modpacks means you can't experiment at all and basically have to know what all the good combinations are in advance from reading the source code.

I've got a list written down with several of the assemblies. I'm heading home right now, so I'll check and see if I still have the list. I actually though we had compiled a list, way back when DoomRLA came out, of all the assemblies that anons had found.

But you could just keep playing the TEST map over and over again till you discover all the recipes since there's, like, 10 allmaps that spawn. Also, you could just keep using "summon allmap" in a normal map until you discover all of them.

Some of the fun, for me, was figuring out random assemblies and keeping a log of the ones I discovered; however, remember that some assemblies don't recieve the class bonuses from the characters.

Trying to get doom up and running on the ouya, via doom gles. Frustratingly though, you have to pay $10 or so else your limited to shareware doom, and one level on any other wad (ie full game)

Really? I always felt the torch was kind of meh.
But that's probably my fault. I'll play with it a lot more since I usually go with lances, daggers and Goddess Bracelet.

I also kinda thought Goddess Bracelet was one of the most powerful weapons.
Being able to destroy projectiles, that big damage, that basically a dagger firing rate.

And most importantly dat sound made it a cornerstone of my Lord Blaz domination.

Really though I never felt it was lackluster, it was also something that made slaughtermaps pretty doable because you could delete projectiles basically.

I am sad to see it go but I understand if you didn't like it very much.

Torch is amazing for tough monsters, toss one at their feet so that the flames stunlock them, then wail on them with the sword.

For SSG fun times it is important to know how to move and to not really go for it when dealing with multiple hitscanners since you will get hurt while reloading.

For the zombies I do recommend the chaingun.
It's a surprisingly reliable weapon that gets overlooked just because it's not the two shotguns.

It also helps prevent retaliation due to the chaingun cha-cha.

The chaingun is a beautiful weapon. Great rate of fire and it feels really satisfying, but it doesn't have the screen-obscuring effect of the plasma rifle. I don't think I've ever killed a pinky with anything else.

Personally I use the SSG, Berserk or Chainsaw for pinkies, depends on the encounter itself.

Chaingun is so good against the zombies and imps though, god damn.
So many encounters trivialized and damage reduced to a minimum thanks to the chaingun.

I use the PSX sound for the pistol/chaingun though, I just don't like the default sound for it.

My arm and hand are kind of messed up so my movement is a bit limited.

I do have the buttons around WASD filled as well.

I guess I can try to switch use item to capslock or something but I'm not sure if that will toggle Always Run on and off all the time.

The original author of the mod added enough weapons to put two weapons per slot 1-0. Weapons on the first seven are pickupable through the map, and everything from 8 on are droppable from boss monsters and environment.

Weapon power ranges from Vanilla fist to BFG-teir, The fist weapon and starting weapon get upgrades that add some utility and increased stats. The bfg-teir weapon that's 'secret' is a bfg-esque weapon that is balanced out by a single shot per reload, and the reload costs health.

I'm playing through Cyberdreams on Nightmare mode, and holy shit. I'm on MAP14 right now, and I think it's theoretically possible to beat, but I'm not sure. After about 100 attempts, I've managed to get past the first half of the level once, and I think there's a certain amount of blind luck involved. The game states that Cyberdreams "won't work" on Nightmare mode when you select it, but I don't think I've found a completely impossible level yet.

All I can think of is giving enemies a special state when the player gets a token that slows them down(Basically forcing the monster into a much slower version of itself through behavior), and make the item give you this token that triggers it. Or send out a pulse that hits enemies and forces them into the slow state.

Are the guns supposed to be trembling?
If so I recommend making them not shake so violently. It can still be held in a shakey manner, but too much makes it look like an issue with the character.

Also I think the melee weapon should swing a little faster visually but still have the same recovery. This would make it more satisfying to swing at enemies and the visual feedback would make it seem more like a weapon you're swinging rather than carressing it over their face.

This is what I'm going off of with 90 seconds of footage.

Other than that I'm really digging the feedback of the guns and the sounds too.
I really look forward to playing this.

I'll look to replacing that torch with a bonfire type thing. It seems there is a single flame light source I can use, I'll just use with that some other decorations.

I had ideas for two enemy types. One is spectral and can only be seen when it passes under a light source or the surrounding light area, might be best to make it outright aggressive with melee and projectile attack options I suppose?

The other is sort of a large dark enemy that doesn't move when it's in your line of sight but only attacks when you aren't looking and moves fast. I guess the idea would be that you can run away from it and it can lose track, not sure if that's possible though.

I think the problem is that it sounded like you are saying that only gameplay mods are allowed here even if that wasn't your intention.

This wasn't a problem though. The problem was to start searching for secret wall in a room where all the walls look the same. With some luck on player's side it is possible to get past chaingunner to RL though. Also it is very possible for player to snatch shotgun from that pillar and get himself stuck there.

its named DH99 because my mate came up with this name, he looked at my screen inna college and said it looks like one of the guns they used in columbine, he meant tec9, it reminded him of that gun because old version of this model did not have wood part under the barrel. so yeah, he said that if I am going to name it, I should reference columbine, and so we came up with that name

Yep. Map15 is one of my more favorite maps in D2, it works well for testing the scoped silliness for the rifle/Upgraded revolver.

As far as lighting is concerned: I have my lighting preferences set to "Dark" (Video options->OpenGL->Preferences) because dark works well for this mod.

I sorta want to ac's the mod so it lowers map light levels, but I think there's a mod that darkens already and I rather not force it on players.

Nintendo's 3D depth effect is kind of like looking inside a box or corridor as opposed to everything popping 'out' of the screen. Yes, ZDoom's up/down looks weird as shit, but I don't think this would be nearly as bad, I would like to see how a '2.5D' game like Doom can utilize the effect.

Thanks for the idea but I ended up scrapping it since it bugged out the monsters AI. I decided to use a powerup, but instead of the speed factor being 0.1 it automatically sets itself to its native 1.5 speed, but the duration works fine

Yep, there are two:

1.) There's one for the knife that shares the berserk slot with the flamethrower, it gives the knife more range, more damage and a chance to stun enemies on hit (Think tazer, but in knife form)

2.) The revolver gets an upgrade, it's a blursphere replacement. It makes the weapon more accurate and provides a scope that allows for long distance combat (although not as much zoom as the rifle's scope)
