depends on what you are looking for.

Space Pirate is really fun to play, as it makes gameplay much faster, so does BURL TUMD. Similarily, samsara makes things more interesting.

It does kick ass.

But there is another version of Brutal Doom, known as Brutal Doom: Sperglord Edition. it actually refines and tweaks it a little bit further and there are some really nice addons for alternate weapon sounds and behavior.

Don't let the name fool you, it's worth checking out.

You can play doom with full mouse look on any doom port worth to shit, you don't need a mod. Plenty of different gib mods exist also.

What makes doom grognards like myself dislike it is mainly the addition of reloading and the fact that it messes with the damage and speed of weapons and attacks. This encourages you to take cover instead of dodging which is a big no no for some. Also the VFX are excessive in my opinion.
