Whatever game you decide to play, make sure it isn't Defender. That game is BS. The first couple levels are manageable, but come the 3rd level, it's "Fuck You, Game Over, Thanks for the Quarter, Dumbass".

You forgot TriggerHeart Exelica for Dreamcast. And Sturmwind shouldn't be categorized as a shmup. It's more like "scrolling wallpaper".

>>1999853
Even if that's true, it's worth playing for the great old-school visuals and for historical reasons. This is 100x true if you can find it in person.

>> No.1999928

It's worth playing just to see how much of a ass raping scam it was. It's not a video game, it's a quarter stealing machine, and nothing more. It should've been illegal. It's theft.

I don't know. I never put enough time into any of them until now with Defender. I've been playing the William's Arcade's greatest Hits for Playstation, and after playing Defender most of yesterday and a little bit this morning and making no progress, I got pissed and broke the CD in half. And it felt so fucking good.

Fuck you, Williams! And fuck the guy who designed the game! He programmed it in just a few hours and it raked in over a billion dollars. One of the most profitable scams in world history. Well played, dick head. He should be spending the rest of his life in prison.
