Played all of those. Any more PS1 ones? And hell throw me some PS2 shit too, I already know about Jak & Daxter and disappointing Crash and Spyro sequels.

And man, really wish Gex went on as a franchise, even though it might have fallen in quality like other PS1 3D plat franchises, but I would have liked it to try at least.

Rayman
Billy Hatcher, maybe? Not really retro and not PS- related

All those sweet ass Disney platformers like Tarzan, Hercules, Monsters Inc, fucking Toy Story 2 and Donald Duck Goin Quackers
Bugs Bunny Lost in Time and its sort of sequel Bugs Bunny & Taz Time Busters, Sheep Raider
40 Winks

Shit, there's tons more, can't even name them all. Some of those have versions for PC, DC, PS2, GC, etc.

Seriously, play this.

The most underlooked game from the early 3D platforming scene by far.

It's on PC too, so you literally have no excuse.

You won't regret it. I played it only last year on recommendation, and it's amazing.

>> No.1981868

Was Donkey Kong 64 any good? I always really wanted to play it, but I never got it when I was a kid and it doesn't really run properly or well on emulators at all. I'd feel better about never being able to play it if it turned out to actually be shit.

It's a collectathon in the extremist sense. A bunch of characters, a lot of unlockable skills & abilities, a ton of backtracking. I found the gameplay itself pretty average. If you played any of Rare's other 3D platformers from that era then you aren't missing out on much.

Youtube "DK rap" for a good laugh and pass on the game, unless you're in need of an eye opener for platinum/100%'ing games.

Don't know how there is only two posts suggesting rayman.

rayman 2 and 3 are must-play 3d platformers on par with classics such as banjo, conker and crash.

Any of the 3 Bomberman titles on N64. Particularly the first game. I have never played anything else quite like it. A 3D platformed where you can't jump. But it works!

Even I wonder how you've never heard of it. It's always said to be the best Saturn game. It was referenced a TON in Sonic Adventure...and Sonic Adventure 2 to an extent.

It got a Wii sequel too, man.

tomba 2 uses 3d graphics but is all around worse than tomba 1

jumping flash? one of the earliest examples of an open 3d platformer and it works surprising well; the cartoony graphics still look nice if pixelated

I may get some backlash for bringing this one up, but this is also a game not many know about unless you had the original Xbox and saw this on a demo disc. It's a platformer where you fight monster using the power of time crystals that allow you to manipulate time to your advantage. It was a neat concept and even spawned a sequel, but didn't really catch on with the crowd due to being an Xbox exclusive title.
