We know you're still shilling. Creative shilling, faggot. Trying to sell as many of these shits before your company gets fucked. Go away.

OK, why was it when I (employed by Chipotle, decidely not Hyperkin) asked about the Retron 5, nobody quoted *this* picture?

Y'all are some inconsistent motherfuckers.

I feel like I'm going to break it every time I take out an NES or SNES cart. Controller is shit.

Every thread about it on /vr/ is treated as advertising spam. It doesn't matter whether it's asking a question, praising it or even ridiculing it. Talking about it is enough to set of the alarms.
Nobody on /vr/ would give a shit about an Android emulator box that needs cartridges and most of the threads turned into Wii vs PC.

Should've just stuck with SoC clones. Don't know who in their right mind would pay over $99 for a clone in the first place. The delays were ridiculous, too. Even Ouya didn't screw up this bad. Even the infamous WikiPad wasn't this bad. If they're smart they'll just pull it from shelves before this disaster gets any worse. Looks like Hyperkin is once again outdone by their rival Retro-Bit.

Why are these companies still not just making direct clones of the hardware?

>> No.1980974

>>1980965
That would be more expensive. Just making an illegal emulator from open source software is way cheaper.

>> No.1980986

They upep the price you know? Thing went from the original $100 to the $140 it was at release to now it being $160.
I believed the argument of it being too expensive and difficult a few years back. Now you have individuals making new NES ppu and other chips. This company like most it seems doesn't give a shit. No excuse when individuals can remake chips like that.

The real manufacturing price of this shitty emulator is probably like $10. You basically just need a cheap SOC and some other cheap components. Making real hardware "emulators" would need research of the old console hardware. What they did was just stick emulators other people made into a plastic box driven by a smartphone CPU. They only had to research the connection with the real cartridges.

Hyperkin has made other consoles than the Retron5. Not like they wouldn't know how to do a direct clone.
I don't care about emulators or people stealing them either so.
