Conan's video game segments on his show are pretty funny; I'd definitely watch a 22 or 40 minute version of that. He's a bit more derisive toward video games in general than the Kacho is (having loved video games since his youth) but Conan is pretty funny and usually says funny shit when he plays games. I originally skipped over all the text adventure games on my first watch of the series. It was a stupid decision, because Arino does all the best commentary in the few of them I've watched so far.

It works out in the end though because now I have new old GCCX to watch while I wait for actual new episodes.

I found new rips of that RGM disc but man, they're not even scaled (scale to 4:3 in real time from 720x480) or cropped and the subtitles are burned in directly from the PNGs on the disc so they give my eyes cancer with blocky text.

Am I the only one who seems to have become disenchanted by this show? I almost fell asleep during the first two DKC2 episodes and I loathe to see the third part as I feel it is being drawn out too long.
I also find myself more and more irritated by Arino's jokes. Don't get me wrong, I never found him funny, but the raucous applause which follows after a pointless observation of his is finally getting to me.

Ive watched a few episodes two years ago when /v/ jumped on the Kachou train, but i didnt really care about it at that time. I watched a few episodes and enjoyed it, but the overwhelming amount of content scared me off.

It's still ongoing, episode 188 comes out next month. Hard to say for how long since Arino's getting older but there have been zero signs of cancellation so far.

The basic formula is the same as always, although Arino is a lot better nowadays than he was in the early years. Which means he still sucks hilariously but he doesn't need ADs to play though the game for him all the time.

I don't really get how the amount of content can be "overwhelming", it's not like you need to watch them in a row or need to worry about forgetting the plot.

If you can read Japanese, follow the show on Twitter when it airs, the hardcore fans have razor eyes. They'd have to have him do challenges in a window-less room and no clock to trick them.

South America game and entertainment centers stopped importing Japanese arcades a long time ago. Even if they're crazy popular around here, their prices are simply not compatible with the (already shrinking) South American Market.
Bring this info to the main topic, if Arino ever visits any game center in South America, he'd find a lot of Chinese prize games, some random cabinets running Xbox360 and with some luck, some pirated Neo Geo stuff.

Personally I wouldn't say the super mario land episode confirms or denies anything on how much of the jokes and poor playing are scripted, given that the entire "forgot the script" subplot could have itself been scripted.

In my opinion, don't worry about it and enjoy the show.
