Blue and Green were press/developer machines. I'm not sure if they were region free though.
White ones had built-in Video CD hardware, for the asia market.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd rather just have the real thing. That emulator box just isn't a piece of history. Maybe after 20 years it'd be a neat curiosity to have when there's no way the money can go back to the people who made it, but until then why not have the real thing while there's still not stupid expensive for the most part?

You can buy an used dual core laptop at Goodwill or yard sales for $20-$40 bucks.
It will play each and every game supported by the Retron and more, and it will never fuck up your saves.

For a controller, a $5 usb controller bought at walmart will do the trick.

Exactly, that's what I mean. I don't think anyone can seriously tell me they don't have an old laptop or PC laying around they could use for this. And you can get these things for practically free. How simple is it to find someone with a laptop with a busted screen that you can just leave hooked up to your TV? And if you ABSOLUTELY NEEDED to buy a special device instead of being economical about it, you could just get a raspberry pi or something like that.

And it'll have better compatability and play other systems as well. And you can use whatever controller you want. And you can still use usb adapters for your controllers.
