Got all this for $25.
How'd I do, /vr/?

Also, what (hopefully cheap) games should I pick up?
I hear Genesis collectan is cheaper than SNES, but I haven't really compared prices yet.

>> No.1943119

Did good, Sonic 2 is great and that TMNT game is supposed to be good.
My suggestion for games is instead of paying resellers just buy an Everdrive, makes collecting more fun because from then on you won't feel pressured to find games you really wanted and spend too much

>> No.1943120

Meh.

Very good. TMNT sells for somewhat retarded amounts on ebay. If I'd have seen that lot for $25, I'd have gasped and jumped on it, so good going.

What you want to have some real fun is the AV cable for the Genesis 1, and an 8mm to RCA adapter or cable so you can get stereo on your TV out of the headphone port in the front of the system. Remember to turn up the volume.

There will be a minor impedance matching problem, but eh. That just makes the sound a little quieter than desired.

I doubt I'd have gotten the deal anywhere else.
A friend offered it to me, and most of the games were stuff I gave him (everything but Sonic and Baseball), since I got them free but didn't have a Genesis at the time.

Not amazing, but a very fair price. I usually see genesis consoles with just the AV/Power/Controller for around $15-$20

$5 extra for 4 games (2 good ones) and an extra controller is nice.

You might also want to consider jumping to SCART RGB or S-Video, op. Composite and RF will make your eyes bleed

>Composite and RF will make your eyes bleed

Maybe if you live inside of an electric motor, and use seven mile long cables made of rusty iron.

This is composite through a Genesis 2 and a 32X, attached to a capture card.

What does /vr/ consider a good price for a megadrive?

>> No.1943325

>>1943316
$1.50.
Anything else is blamed on inflation and resellers.

Thanks for the budget-conscious list, brah.
I'm gonna try to hit up a local used place or two this weekend, maybe trade in some of my old GBA shovelware (Happy Feet, Ice Age, etc) for a little bit of credit, if I can.
Last I checked they had some decent prices on Genesis stuff, nowhere near as bad as their SNES prices.

I have that same korg tuner

>> No.1943691

>>1943640
Yeah, I didn't mean for that to wind up in the picture.
It's fitting, though, since it may actually be as old as the Genesis. It's probably around as old as me, and I use it for pretty much everything.

I recommended around 90 notable titles to pick up for a system that supposedly released over 900. Feel free to make suggestions if you think the list is missing anything
