Let's explore the vast world of the bootlegs.

Show the ones you have, or something you remember or played bootleged. The weirder the better.

Holy shit I've played this one on a pirate Famicom!

I totally forgot about this one... Sadly, my bro gifted my console without my permission, and I lost my copy... mine was yellow and had the plain on the opening with mario on top.

My favorite thing about bootleg games, at least modern ones, is how they come with holographic labels. I always wanted to produce my own labels and boxes with a holofoil effect, I though it looked nice.

Also, this is a crapshoot, but I remember seeing (and consequently not buying) a bootlegged game where the label was actually rather scary looking. I don't quite remember what was on it, probably some guy fighting some monster, and I think the label was a 'vertical' label, meaning they printed a long label and put it on sideways.

And this is why Nintendo's Famicom is the greatest console of all time. Everyone around the world got to experience those wonderful games, and some of them even experienced games we never gave a chance to, such as Little Samson or Snow Bros. The pirates were even motivated enough to make their own games for the console, though many of them are of dubious quality.

Thank you Nintendo, thank you Uemura, and thank you Yamauchi. This console would never be replicated again, at least by Nintendo.

I hate the fake ones. Not because the template is too cartoony to look like a real cart. But more because they's done by people who are not blind, or at the very least, have some diea of how to make things look good normally. As a result, attempts to look terrible, like with this, end up looking too good for what they are.

I had some severe trouble making a label for my 245-in-1 because I just can't design something that looks intentionally bad. I always have to get Aspect ratios right when resizing etc. Eventually I just glued the original label to the NES cart.

and he's like "No, no no, it's 8-bit"

This escalates to the point where he's pretty pissed until I look for Mega Drive clones and find this. He insists it's a rare Sega console only available in his country. I just told him that's really cool and I'm jealous.

It does look kinda cool for a clone.

Does anyone have any bootleg pokemon games? Where do you even find them?

I know that bootleg cartridges there in USA are very difficult to find, piracy policies were harsh, but hey, at least you can find original software very cheap. Here on my country bootlegs are everywhere, but originals are very rare ;-;

I have that crappily translated Pokemon Green, and a strange chinese translation of Pokemon Crystal on an acid green cartridge.
Both were lucky finds on a flea market, especially Pokemon Green. I got it for only 1 euro!
Your best bet is to check out all the gameboy cartridges at flea markets or secondhand stores, or as >>1979165 said, check out the internet.

Christmas season is coming, so I would suggest you hop in your local flea market and hunt for them, or you can take the risk and go to (say) Mexico since one, they both celebrate Xmas and Epiphany and two, they tend to import bootleg consoles around that time

USA has plenty of bootleg consoles with "9999" games built in. Separate cartridges are rare.

Funny thing is that most eastern Europeans believe hat the bootleg junk the had over there (NES ripoffs like "Dendy", "Pegazus", or whatever) was legit stuff at least on par with or even superior(!) than Nintendo's (who never was officially present in that region for various reasons). Even more funny is that they won't budge with their views even if countered with hard facts (which they either ignore or dismiss as "fanboy lies"), discussion with them resembles a game of chess against a pigeon (will knock over the pieces, poo onto the chessboard, and in the end claim he's won).
