Time for a MediEvil thread, for discussion of MediEvil, it's sequel and hopes for a new game, which would pick up right after the cliffhanger the second game ended with.

Fun combat, kind of clunky platforming, enjoyable level design and progression, truly excellent music and atmosphere.

Medieval is a great game. Easily in my PSX top ten.

The environments arent as varied by the combat is way better and the weapon variety is just as good.
The whole london scenery ties incredibly well with the general fantasy aesthetic and the humor is still there.
I'd say they're equally good.

I never thought the cliffhanger needed to be filled, I thought it was pretty obvious what happened. I'd be up for Dan waking up in an earlier time period, like in between 1 & 2, that was the initial plan for MediEvil 3.

Nah, it's definitely not as good. The entire time I played it, something felt missing. I know the creator of the first wasn't even involved in the sequel, besides choosing the new setting.

Don't even get me started on the PSP remake.

In case anyone asks about MediEvil 3, it was taken from an interview with the Artist(and voice of Dan).

>Loosely the idea that we had was that the game would be set in Gallowmere between MediEvil 1 and 2. Jack Frost is hungry for power and the world of MediEvil is being plunged into everlasting winter. If this sounds familiar it was the game was going to be a loose satire of the book/tv series – A Game of Thrones, our working title was “A Game of Bones.” The aim of the game was to keep the encroaching Winter engulfing Gallowmere by fighting various ice demons, trolls and armies that take their energy from the cold, the warmer the Gallowmere becomes the weaker the enemies get, the colder Gallowmere becomes the stronger and more powerful the enemies become.

That level was the most difficult fucking thing in the game. All that jumping, reanimating enemies and a boss you couldn't just punch in his fucking face. Also jumping.
The levels after were much easier.

Medievil, for me, was mega revolutionary for some reason. It was a comedy, an action adventure, and a platformer, and it did them all well.
