Looking closer now, there's the names of the characters written. Just above "Giant DK" it says Falcon, to the left of Yoshi says Purin (japanese Jigglypuff name), and there's more, I think Link is on the upper side.

But I still can't figure out what it is. Some of the figures look too geometrical to be clouds. And there's that weird sun drawing there.

If this is supposed to be a "let's pretend it's 1999" thread, you're doing it wrong. Leaks weren't really a thing until generation seven I'd say. Everything else was trailers and tech demos.

In 1999 though? All we really had to go by was Nintendo Power and commercials. And that kid whose dad/uncle/cousin works at Nintendo.
