Always thought it was kind of weird for a platforming series to have slippery controls as pretty much the main defining feature of its games.

I find it weird it didn't take off.

The character is a young adventurer and not some fat old Italian stereotype. He had vehicles and power-ups and punched his enemies instead of jumping on them, which makes sense.

There was a lot of potential. The first game, despite that drawback you mentioned, was a good game. Yet, they couldn't think to make that many games about him. I know there are other games, but they weren't official to the series and the only one that is official is the sequel.

i used to play this on a second-hand master system and I never really got past the cave stage. Watching a playthrough on youtube made me realize it's not very challenging at all. The normal enemies all die easily to punching, and as along as you avoid punching the mystery blocks or walking over the death blocks you won't encounter anything too dangerous. The point of the game really is to just collect as much money as possible to buy your way past the bosses.

They are always done in a certain order, but the order doesn't repeat if you fail once.
The game probably has a list like RPSSPSRSRRRSRPPRSPRP... and in just moves one step every time you do a battle.
