1901210 No.1901210[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

Let's have a Tetris score thread. Try to limit it to NES and Gameboy scores, since those generally accepted as the most played and better ports.

Pic related is the best I've done recently.

Yeah. By casuals and Nintendo fans who don't know better. The Grandmaster games were better.

I mean, I enjoy several different ports. Maybe saying "better ports" wasn't the right word. It's easier if we all just use NES or GB scores to compare.

i'm too dumb to play. i end up filling up the rows but leaving spaces for exact pieces and they never come. it just stacks and i quit.

Grandmaster is just a hugbox for people obsessed with getting titles. Sliding and rotating the pieces after they land, which this game forces players to do, are features copied off from the casual versions of Tetris.

NES or Gameboy (original, not DX). Either work. We can group them seperately, since they have different scoring mechanics. Gives us two different versions to work with. We'll have this thread up, just post your high score as you get it. It'll adopt a trip for the sake of my scores.

I might play a little longer, but I'm about to just shut this off, I don't really see any end in sight unless I start to play really recklessly. I suppose I could plug the charger in and leave it paused to tomorrow, but is there any risk of burn-in of some kind?

Not quite sure if it'll let you infinite spin, but it's a lot more forgiving than the the original GB game. Though level 30 would be damn impossible if it didn't give you the chance to make last minute adjustments.

DX also isn't stingy up the ass with the I blocks. You won't get a dozen S blocks followed by a J, followed by a dozen more S.

>Though level 30 would be damn impossible if it didn't give you the chance to make last minute adjustments.

That's how it should be.

>> No.1908034

>>1907880
It's the last minute adjustments. There is a longer delay after landing before the drop gets locked in.

I like it more than GB Tetris for everything other than the music and the endings (which show up even on low scores, take too long, and aren't skippable).

That's because the original is much less forgiving of bad planning, and moving the pieces has a much different timing. You need faster thumbs for it as well.
