This artwork. It's for Zelda II I believe. Is there a link to HD scans anywhere and a complete collection? I've seen collections online, but I don't know if they were complete.

>> No.1897853

The art style looks like Akihiro Yamada, who drew the Lodoss War: Lady of Pharis manga. However, I can't find confirmation of this using google, so I'm probably wrong. Still, if you like that art style, you might want to look into this guy.

It's Katsuya Terada: https://www.google.com/search?q=Katsuya+Terada&es_sm=119&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=z_oAVO3mL5OAygS_6oH4AQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1922&bih=982

Awesome artist.

It's Link's Awakening, m8. Also the only source of other artwork I've seen of it was from Zelda Dungeon, and probably any wiki site might have them. Just looking at the art style makes me nostalgic for the early 90's all over again.

Also the website said Katsuya Terada did the Zelda artwork, but then again it's only one source that confirms that.

I don't know if they were an adaptation of japanese material, but Nintendo Power used those illustrations in some guides for various Zelda games (from the original to Link's Awakening). The artist is Katsuya Terada. He's mostly a pin-up illustrator now, but he's also known for his designs for the Blood: The Last Vampire anime, and a pretty gross manga adaptation of Journey to the West.

You probably can get decent scans here and there in wikis and Zelda fansites, dunno if somebody has ever tried to collect them all together.

Here's some more, from Zelda 1

And indeed, from Link's Awakening. Actually, I think these were actually official Nintendo's Player Guides.

All I read was that they were going to be in the Player's Guide, but weren't for one reason or another. Again, it was really vague on the info.

That's Awakening, but at least a lot of his Zelda art is of Zelda 2, like this one.

BTW, Terada is NOT the main concept artist of the Zelda series. These images are comissions for Nintendo.

They ARE NOT concept art used to develop the game while in production.

I only say that because many sites that actually put an a name to the art claim that these images are the official concept art.
