Each wing houses several chambers containing works of fine art, which seem to be grouped by thematic elements. There are many patrons who have come to admire the displays, so you may have to jostle and shove a bit to get a look.

I played doom 95 back in he day with keyboard only (ctrl for shooting, holding alt to strafe). It was quite good and I didn't care as much because I played the SNES version.

Now with ZDoom/GZDoom/Skulltag/Zandronum I use mouselook and wasd to move.

Just play Doom however you feel more confortable.

(just for fun, try playing it only with keyboard. Shit is hard as fuck on nightmare)

Vanilla Doom supported the mouse. The earliest beta publicly available supported the mouse. WASD + mouse was entirely possible from day 1. The only issue was that mouse movement couldn't be disabled, but that was fixed with the very earliest sourceports.

Personally I use a screen recorder called SimpleScreenRecorder. As far as I know it's linux only, but it wraps around avconv/ffmpeg so it supports WebM out of the box.

A Windows alternative would be WebMCam, but I like to use this weird Brazillian program called aTube Catcher which is sort of a one-stop shop for acquiring video, but it has a metric assload of adware on it.

I got COURTYRD.WAD, a Doom II wad from '95 built for DM, COOP, and singleplayer, it's also the seventh revision of the wad! Pretty basic mapping, like what you'd see in a map from that time I believe, though there's one bit in it that actually surprised me quite a bit. Took three attempts to finish it due to carelessness/stupidity. That final long hallway also hurts you and I think the creator's intent was to have you run down that hallway thinking there were no more monsters just to end up being surprised by two archviles while at low health.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure those CC maps with Nazi would be possible without respawning items. You use a lot of ammo up just shooting at enemies, either due to spread, sweeping, or recoil. Also there's a fuckload of enemies and they hit pretty hard and their bullets all travel very fast. Not hitscan, but pretty difficult to not get hit.

The map sort of needs to be made with Nazis in mind, otherwise you get a serious resource issue without respawning items.

So I decided to do a bot match with Demonsteele for shits and giggles. Bots kept spamming sword slashes at each other, yet nobody was getting hit. I cornered one of them and kept slashing it to no avail. Turns out that the sword cannot damage players at all.

I didn't mention that a big stipulation for me is that it only mods the weapons. The experience I dream of is a basically vanilla Doom, played in GZDoom with mouselook (even though it's unnecessary), and all its visual enhancement, with vanilla monsters and unmodded maps and difficulties, but with a pistol (especially the pistol) that reloads and *feels* good to use. That actually packs a punch and is good for something.

Hideous Destructor sounds like something you'd like. The chaingun sprite is scaled down, but that's the only visual change. Functionally, the weapons are much more realistic. Bullets are projectiles (fast enough that it's not really noticeable, but still), manual shotgun pumping complete with shortstroking if you suck at it, automatics have their speed massively increased, with the chaingun's default firing speed increased to 700 RPM and the option to switch to 2100 RPM. The plasma gun isn't just a boring projectile spam weapon anymore, instead it allows you to SMITE YOUR ENEMIES WITH LIGHTNING BOLTS. The shotguns have very good range, with the SSG practically serving as a sniper rifle. There's several new weapons too - a ridiculously unreliable assault rifle (which you're basically forced to use because it has the most common ammo), a battle rifle that hits harder and doesn't jam or overheat like the assault rifle but has rather uncommon ammo, and a cannon that pierces enemies and kicks so hard that you'll actually hurt yourself if you don't fire it from the correct position. The sounds are a bit of an acquired taste, they're definitely not what you'd expect in a Doom mod, but I personally find them rather satisfying. And of course there's a catch, which is that the monsters are all buffed to the point of most maps becoming unplayably hard. Still, it's a lot of fun if you're willing to re-learn everything you thought you knew about Doom.

I own and have completed Orcs & Elves multiple times on my DS, it's a pretty good game made in the same style. There's also an Orcs & Elves II (I think), but that's another thing I don't have access to.

I have an Android phone, no devices running iOS, unfortunately, I would love to play Doom II RPG and Wolfenstein RPG but I guess it's impossible unless I got an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

You can place the JAR file anywhere you want, there is a "apps" folder that comes with microemu which you can place in there. Run "microemulator.jar" and you can set it to "resizable device" if you don't want that phone graphic there, go to File -> Open MIDlet file -> open the Doom II RPG JAR file. It should show up in the list menu, double-click it or hit select and it should run, if you want a bigger display go into Options -> Scaled Display

Keep in mind it was a different time back then. They didn't have the fancy computers, phones, or standards that we enjoy now... Has 1 new monster (flying BFG) and other monsters are edited (barons of hell fly, and are more like flying hell knights now, hell knights are tiny and replace imps)

It's also unbeatable if you can't count in hexadecimal. And has one teleporter that leads you to a trap room, that I think has no exit.

Maybe I'll go through and fix it's pitfalls someday. But probably not.

It's a decent chopping weapon against unarmored, meaty foes, but against anything that's wearing armor (like zombiemen), or anything that has metal parts, you're kinda fucked.

Cortez men parried blows from these with their own swords successfully, and some were said to actually have chopped them off (though I'll always be skeptical of accounts like those).

It would be good for sneaking up on a mancubus and then going to town on them, chopping into their dense, soft, meaty blubber, as long as you're mindful of their feiry blasts and keep circling them.

It would be passable against imps, unadvised against pinkies, and a pretty poor idea against barons and knights.
