Here's an interesting idea for a thread. What games have video game adaptations of celebrities, or other real people? Posting an obvious one, President Reagan in the ending of the arcade version of Bad Dudes.

This raises a question. Would characters that are obviously inspired by actual people count? What about movie tie-ins? For example, would Hook's protagonist be a depiction of Peter Pan, or Robin Williams since it is based on that movie? It doesn't look anything like him, but the characters are all there.

im not sure how the NES version is because I have never played it. It's an above average pc engine game like as good as kato chan and ken chan. the system was popular enough in japan to get a ton of great games though, I have like 57 pc engine games and 33 turbo grafx games and 15 cd games on top of that. Its an awesome system to collect for because its like a new frontier away from the usual nintendo/sega 16 bit machines. I think the PC engine shares more in common with the genesis than the NES though. It may have had a souped up NES cpu but those GPUs could really makes some nice graphics.

I think the PCE was just the bridge between the NES and Genesis. The PCE shares a 6502 CPU and similar graphics limitations (only one background layer), so techniques picked up from the NES would be used in PCE development.

I even like to think of the Genesis as the direct successor of the NES as opposed to the SNES. The Genesis was more raw and unpolished, yet it had capable hardware that held it's own for years.
