I don't like the color scheme on the NA SNES, but I do prefer the form of the console and the feel of the buttons. My ideal version would be the physical design of the NA version, with the colors of the EU SNES.

The Americunt SNES is horrible indeed, but even the proper SNES is a pretty poor looking console. Great controller, though.

The Master System II, the most common model by far where I live, is a shithouse design too. Big step down from the sleek original model, of which I've only ever seen one.

I never liked the psOne redesign. It loses some character from the original model.
The N64 also looks a bit clumsy to me. It's the two front curves on it that throw off the design.

Gotta show some love for the US model snes here. I actually really like the purple and pink, as well as the concave buttons. It has a really nice early 90's Americana aesthetic to it. Brings me back.

I also like how different the coloring is from most other consoles, whereas primary color buttons have been found on a lot of consoles since.

I really don't like the snes mini, or the genesis 3 for that matter. They both look and feel kind of cheap. The psone had the same issue.

Are there any consoles that people LIKE the look of? I always thought the Atari 2600 looked pretty cool. Gamecube and PS2 as well.

Genesis model 1 with the 16-bit/high definition graphics printed on it. This thing is a relic of the late 80's, and has an enormous amount of novelty in the design. I think the designers took some cues from robocop.

NES-101 is a big improvement over the toaster.

The Master System looks like what you'd get if you took all the outdated electronics from an abandoned 80's thrift shop and threw them into a doraemon-esque matter combining device. It's as outdated and cheesy looking as baggy silk shirts, acid washed jeans, and lace fingerless gloves. Even the later Atari systems are less off-putting.

In defense of the SNES, Nintendo was clearly trying to avoid the generic/grey look of the SFC and they succeeded even if it looks like an early 90's economy car in shape which of course allowed Sega to come in with the sports car shaped Gen II.
