it's horribly broken mess, the lightest characters have the best handling, acceleration and speed.
Middleweights have the lowest speed and acceleration.

It's was a massive drop in difficulty from the SNES game and the series has only gotten worse in that regard.

Most of the tracks are really boring, MK64 has become baby's first nostalgia

Agreed, though admittedly I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the N64 and haven't played the ones following. I love that game. One of my best friends crashed at my place for a couple of months like two years back and we played MK64 almost every night, 8 tournies back to back (150CC + Extra).

I'll never get bored of that game.

Online, lots of tracks, karts/bikes, and racers to choose, most fun, gorgeous graphics make MK8 the best one. MK doub dash is also pretty good, but come on mang. 8 is really just the most fun I've had with a Mario Kart game

>> No.1826836

No. Was a lotta fun back in the day, but Double Dash and 8 are so much better.

Mario Kart Wii, played with a Gamecube controller, is better than 64 in my opinion, although 64 will always have a special place in my heart. I just could not get into Double Dash.

MK64 definitely had the best music, though.

Big statement, considering there was only about a 10% difference in sales.

Pretty much, not to mention it started their reward players for being shit item system and punish players for being good. Yeah, cause Bowser's fat ass is going to be helped by him getting a blue shell. Sure it was mostly manageable and the sequels made it worse but it was always a bad idea. The worst part is that if you say shit about it people just say its a multilayer game or a party game. Even though it hardly has any multilayer content or options. This shit at Smash.

I liked the first one and SC the best. Diddy Kong Racing and every F-Zero were much better though.

There isn't really a lot to it, but I'll do the best I can.

-If you're looking for good controls in the original, you want the Fire Stingray. Any other machine has terrible steering.
-To start a race (Fire Stingray only), always (except for the Death Wind courses) overheat your engines and hold the R button to shift your vehicle's weight at the same time. You'll always get hit from behind by the Blue Falcon and later the Wild Goose if you did it right.
-In relation to the previous point, try to block drivers behind you whenever you can. The game will flash a "CHECK" arrow at the bottom of the screen to show where they're coming from; block them and you'll get a speed boost.
-If you're having trouble making the really tight turns, rapidly tap the gas and use that to go around your turn.
-NEVER skip the pit zone, even if it requires you to go out of your way (Fire Field does this). You will need it to stand up to as many collisions as possible.
-When you go off a Jump Plate, hold down on the controller to get maximum air time and speed boost.

The biggest difficulty factor in all F-Zero games, regardless of release date, is they have a rubberband AI that's even worse than Mario Kart and the only thing you have to level the field is boost power. The above tips aren't perfect, but they'll help you stay in the game.

>> No.1831356

>>1831327
>rubberband AI that's even worse than Mario Kart and the only thing you have to level the field is boost power.

Well the AI can't outrun the fire stingray, so providing you don't screw up you should be sitting pretty.

yeah, I don't think this game was designed with balance in mind.

it's pretty clear that fire stingray is the best vehicle when the only stat worse than the other cars is acceleration and has superior weight, speed, handling and body strength.
