Why do people bitch about e celebs? You're giving them more publicity than the fans. I like James. His poopoo rants aren't funny, but his overall humor is. That episode where the airplane from topgun came out of his tv? Laughed my ass off.
Mike is the "and I helped!" friend who seems to be there as filler for the most part. I know he helped James out a lot in the past, and he can draw like a MF, but I think he's asking too much in return by sealing a spot on the show. I'd rather have Kyle on the show. He's mediocre at music, but not too cocky about his own jokes too spew out everything off the top of his head while laughing at himself and drooling from the size of his bottle cap teeth in the process like Mike does. As far as Bootsy and Pat, they take all of their humor technique from Who Framed Roger Rabit. Not funny. Never was.
The only awful things I consider to be spawned from AVGN are other e celebs emulating him like ProJared. And by emulate, I don't mean character, I mean subject matter (bad games). It's a trend at this point.

Well I wouldn't call myself better. I mean for instance Spoony plays a lot of RPGs I wouldn't expect him to crush a game like that first try on the last level either. And James is pretty good at Contra, which I honestly think is harder.

It is neat to play it for yourself though. As an adult I can see it has good graphics for a NES game, okay soundFX, dual level use is neat, multiple endings is pretty unheard of then, and random enemy placement keeps it fresh. I honestly think someone really tried on this game.

Problem being the Dr parts are really slow paced and meant to be planned out to dodge a lot, but because so much of the enemy placement is random as fuck, you can just get royally screwed where there is just too much of a tornado of shit on screen to dodge it all. But if you can kick ass as Hyde you do get to try again.

Ninja Gaiden is a cluster of shit flying at you too, but it has a pattern so you can learn it and master it, but this damn thing can go from easy jumps to just fuck you from one screen to the next. So I can see as a kid renting this game with no way to look up tips or watch someone else trying to figure out all the little quarks and planning for the fuck you random factor would be really fustrating.

Their latest Superscope vid where Mike and him couldn't figure out how to play Battle Clash even when the game tells you at the beginning (which they skipped while Mike sneered "haha imagine having text in a shooting game"). Then they proceed to compared it to Link to the Past and Super Mario World because that's totally fair.

The problem with a movie like this is he's put in the situation where he's fucked if he doesn't re-hash classic jokes like super mecha death christ who was painfully absent but he's fucked if he did rely on his old jokes and gags because then the movie would have been stale and seemed like a quick cash in.

I really felt this is one of the rare times were they could just throw all the insanity at you that death god thing and the real eet tee, they explained everything and while they do it felt like the movie was being put on pause with no explanation and it would work because its a stupid plot, and a stupid movie, but thats ok because Rolfe is an authority on schlock films, so if you're a fan of that brand of "humor" he slipped in a lot of clever nods. like the bad guy falling into the fountain and there was no splash ala TMNT 3

I'll still buy the DVD when it comes out simply because I've been a fan since since 2007 and haven't bought a single thing from him, so I almost feel as if I owe it to him because at the end of the day he still makes a high quality product.

so yeah, if this was EGM, i'd give the movie a 6.5/10, if I was roger ebert i'd give it one thumb up.

That shit is so dumb to me, it is the most edgy thing he has done and it just seems like a piss poor excuse to shit on religious extremists and bible thumpers, or just to make fun of religion in general, which is something I would rather not see because being shitty over people's beliefs is just as bad as people who are shitty to other people because of their own beliefs. Got to set a good example and all. I actually refuse to see the Wizard episode again because it is almost the lowest point of his career for me. I realize he had to find something to make fun of when you are reviewing SMB3 and a shitty (but fun) movie with it, but you could have coasted on the movie alone without having to make satan jokes and religious bashing. I'm not a hardcore religious person, I have laughed at the religious games he reviewed and I think any Christian or Catholic with a sense of humour would laugh at shitty NES games trying to "teach" kids virtues or even kids, themselves, who had those shitty games growing up who laugh or resent parents who got them that shit. So, it is not like I don't find humour in religious jokes, I just don't find funny when someone takes a deity and shops his likeness for the sake of making a joke. That is where I cross the line, be it Buddha or Allah, or the Judeo Christian God, or any of the Virgin Mary deities Latin American countries have.
