The race is a damn pain. I've done my best by using tricked out cheap cars so you can challenge crappier competitors but the worse your car is, the slower it turns so it isn't that much of an advantage. The '63 Vette (IIRC) was good for this bc it handles pretty good.

I'd look for a copy of Manx TT SuperBike (fun game from the bowling alley) but it only had two courses.

Way too small time.

There was a cut price version with online play and some changes (Tracks had weather variations including tornados) released but online play wasn't very good.

I remember it being weirdly ahead of it's time in looks though the framerate was an ass (Uncapped so it was supposed to go 60 but it mostly hovered around 40-50) and the handling wasn't great.

>tfw no more arcade racers

Nowadays it's all about licensed cars with no damage, DLC and awards for time invested rather than skill. I played the shit out of Daytona on my saturn, and it wasn't the thought of unlocking new cars that made me keep coming back - it was the thrill of shaving thousands of a second of my best lap times. Hopefully the 90's arcade racer will be good.

no, actually, S2 works fine for me

install the game through the GOG installer. then, in the GOG DOSBox's config file, check which file is mounted as a CD-ROM in the autoexec section - it's actually a pair of renamed CUE/BIN files, so you can re-rename and move them to wherever you put your disk image files, and optionally edit the CUE file if you renamed the BIN file so it keeps working. after that you can remove the GOG installation of the game.

then you can mount the BIN/CUE image in your own DOSBox and install the game off it

it's an ok game, like a mix of Lotus 3 and Net-Q Rally, especially with the mode where you have to stop to refuel

I prefer MF's more simulation-style rally games though

I used to have the PC versions but I guess it would be a mess to run them on modern systems.

I've been playing this game for the past two days. It's not bad or anything, but it feels like an even more infuriating version of a Kart racer. I guess I should git gud.
