Does anyone here transfer the pictures to their computer?

I doubt anyone does, but if so, what kind of material do you use? Cartridge save dumpers are expensive as hell, so I'm stuck with the Madcatz cable and its shitty windows 98 software.

I remember someone posted pictures they took with it on /vr/ before.

I have a save backup cart and a Game Boy flash cart. Neither were purchased for the purpose, but they do the job.
Just take some pictures, connect the camera to the backup cart, and dump the save. Then restore the save to the flashcart and extract on the PC.
I used to have a program for extracting the files from the save, but I believe you can just use an emulator and load the save with a Game Boy Camera rom.

I've always liked the colder atmosphere the 4-color limit gives to pictures.

It's perfect if you use the Windows 98 software.
The Linux one glitches the left side of the border a bit, but you can fix that with a program that allows you to changes the borders on your PC like Funtography.

In both cases, the actual picture comes out pixel-perfect.

There's an app called one-bit camera that uses the GBC dithering style, so you can get the same effect really easily, if you're not inclined to hack a cable together.
