Just started playing this, because I saw it recommended pretty heavily here recently.

It's fun game, but how do I get gud? I'm trying to get used to the physics of the rope mechanics, but I'm not getting too far...

I looked up a speedrun to see what someone that's actually good looks like while playing, and kind of cried a little.

Help me /vr/

Laughable at best... I'm using RA on my Wii. I know you really can't give tips for a game like this, but I lost a little willpower watching that speedrunner swinging all over the fucking fields like it was nothing.

what is laughable at best? Practicing to git gud?

I think that might be the very definition of the plebian lifestyle

no using original hardware.

Just keep playing. When I first started, I saw those crazy videos online and thought I would always be unable to do it. After awhile, it kinda comes to you.

How far have you gotten?

UK 3DS lets you select levels you've already beaten to practice them individually. Not going to help if you want to do a 1cc of the SFC game, though.

Try sticking to the most straightforward level path, since the learning curve there's more gradual. Jumping too many levels can lead you to challenges you don't recognize and will deem impossible.

You get used to the physics eventually, with practise.

It's such a fun game and series once you're good at it.

Use corners to propel yourself. Here's shitty diagram to explain what I mean.

>> No.1799468

One basic thing to learn is how to gain momentum: tighten when the line's tension is high and loose it when it's not. This is used for things like >>1799429 and wall climbing.

There's also the "rocket jump" which is apparently useful (or even required) in many situations, but I haven't learned how to do it yet.
