I owned pokemon quartz, a bootleg hack of pokemon ruby. I bought it off a friend for 10$ because i already beat all Ruby,Emerald and sapphire and i wanted a new game and i had no other console to play with.

I vaguely remember finding a shitty Pokemon thing in turkish back in 1999 on some ROM site

It was like blue and red only it was colored pink instead and it tried to do some weird retarded thing that let you use two pokemon at once in a battle that usually ended with the game crashing

Also half the text was a mess of turkish and chinese characters

I kind of wish I could find and replay it again

It was designed that way to hide the NES' biggest (or rather only) Achilles heel; sprite flicker. Everything is in pieces, so they don't need to actually draw an arm, which will eat up precious sprite limit.

While it looks and sounds horrific, as well as only having 4 or so stages, I think it's a technical marvel. Despite being an NES game, the game doesn't seem to suffer from any slowdown, and continues to run at a fast speed with loads of sprites on screen. The official SMS port has moments of slowdown. Even the original arcade game has several bouts of slowdown, but the bootlegged NES port does not. That speaks as a testament to the NES' true abilities.

I have the infamous Vietnamese Pokemon Crystal hack on a GBC multicart with all Gen 1+2 Pokemon games as well as Super Mario Land and some GB minigames like pinball on it.

All the other Pokemon games on it were legit but Crystal was the Vietnamese hack. Kinda bummed me out because it was like, the coolest Pokemon game but it was so weird compared to the other ones for some reason, I ended up playing Blue most of the time instead. I had no idea why was it so fucked up though.

I don't think we'll see Sukapon until Smash 5. It will take a while for them to recognize Joy Mech Fight to that capacity, or at least I think so. I won't be going anywhere near the internet from Sept 13 to Oct 3, so hopefully I won't find out until I play the 3DS game.
