From experience everdrives and modded consoles are hard to come by from the average collector because they simply want to hang onto it, so these are probably your best bet

A few of you may remember several months ago I posted a thread asking for thoughts and opinions on opening a retro vidya store. Not the overpriced inflated shitholes that occupy most places, but a store that prices things fairly, run by someone who has an actual appreciation for and knowledge about retro gaming. After losing out on the location I thought I had lined up, having to move to a new city, and a few other hiccups along the way I'm finally able to get started in a small way by running my operation at an nicer flea market, with the plan being to eventually move to a "real" storefront. The only other seller here is an enormous twat who runs a tidy little shop selling things at outrageous prices (Saturn for $100, SNES for $75, NES commons for $10, etc). At any rate, keeping up stock is an issue, especially on more sought after, albeit common games (NES/SNES Mario, Donkey Kong, etc). If anybody here has a lot of duplicates or extras of cartridge games or spare consoles I'd like to discuss buying them in bulk. I'm especially short on SNES games since, as I'm sure you know, most people now act like they're made out of gold and diamonds.

Anybody out there who would install a PS2 modchip? I already have the chip (modbo 4.0) and the system (fat PS2, SCPH-39001) but I'm in over my head on installing it. I want it to play imports. Yes, I know that FMCB exists, it just hasn't worked out for me and I want to hard mod the system instead, so that instead of messing with swap tricks or HDD loading, I can simply put any import or burn and run it like any standard US game disk. This. Always remember that eBay gets a percentage, that doesn't happen here and it's kind of the point. By making private deals with collectors we all win, you get to make money without eBay taking a chunk of it and the buyer gets to pay lessthan eBay prices.

Take your copy of links awakening, for example. Sure you could sell it on eBay for 15, maybe 20 bucks, but eBay is gonna take a chunk of that and you have no clue how long it's gonna take to sell. You could sell it on craigslist but you're gonna get resellers lowballing you and five bucks or less all day. If you're looking to sell it here, you should be happy to take ten bucks for it. The point of BST isn't to make big money, it's so we as collectors can help each other out and undercut the resellers. I would much rather give money to a fellow collector selling his dupes than to a reseller who marks games up 400% what he paid for them.

You'll get fair prices here, but expect it to be fair for the buyer too, not just for you.

Not much honestly, since like I said I'm only looking for the shell. I've got a non-tmss model that has a broken power switch (just the plastic switch on the exterior, not the actual power switch), and I just hate to see it go to waste.

Also, I need the screws. I had the screws in a baggy because I didn't feel like putting the damaged shell back on, but they baggy was misplaced apparently. Think my wife threw them out not knowing what they were :/

I hope I'm asking in the right place. I have 2 questions. I bought a used NES controller recently, I had to take it apart and scrub it clean. Looks neat and works perfectly. Problem is the screws it had were stripped so it was a bitch to remove. What size screws would it take? I took it to Home Depot to no help. So RadioShack might be my next place. Also, for a used N64 controller I found, I was able to take it apart, clean it out, the stick is in great shape and I wanted to open it up to lubricate it, however the screw holding it is stripped. How can I remove that? I've tried every screwdriver I have and even tried using super glue and a screwdriver. Any ideas?

Official Sega Saturn S-video Cable, complete in box. Purchased new, taken out to inspect and test once, and then never used again.

To give you an idea of how little people know these exist, the copies of each game that you may find on ebay have been up and relisted for AT LEAST the past year and 5 months. That is when I got into this, and I've gotten 10 of the 14. Just about every one I see on ebay nowadays has been relisted since I started. Some dropping in price, others staying the same. I have only seen Mortal Kombat 2 three times in the past year, and all three times it was over 200 bucks, and it was just too much for me to handle at the time they were listed. I haven't seen Contra 3 for at least half a year, and the only DKC3s I've seen have been damaged or missing part of the label. Like, for example, the one on there now has a hole drilled in it for some reason. I don't want that shit... And I don't think I've EVER seen Street fighter 2 Turbo.. I check nearly every day. Somebody at nintendoage(I think) speculated that there are less than 2000 of each of these in existence, depending whether the store destroyed or sent them back to nintendo, as they were asked to do. The hardest(or, presumed hardest) to find is Mortal kombat II, and it was recently sold for fifty dollars on ebay, which is a steal. I ended up getting way more orders than I could handle, in the double digits. So I'm almost out of Playstations and have to make more than $5 on each of them so I can buy more. Although these two are a bit harder to find and more sought after which is why the price is $10 more. Original modded Playstations are back to $30 or $35 with power/AV cable and a controller as the $25 offer was a sale.

Got them in lots or bundles. PE was from some guy who put his games in those slim cases so to make them fit he sliced up the front art. Legaia obviously was someone who did the same thing. I don't know about the rest of the stuff getting missing, but I got a bundle that included a Valkyrie Profile 2 disc and manual only, and ended up finding a manual and case for sale so I bought it now I have 2 manuals.

You're going to be hard pressed to find a nice, tested one loose with multiple controllers and a game for <$60. Snes is just rough to get into right now. That's why I moved on to Playstation. Which has it's own price problems but I find a lot more people have the "priced to move" mentality than with Nintendo.
