I love tibia to death, but it seems like there's little to do outside of just fighting. Like, I really enjoy crafting and shit, like runescape had.

There's also achievement hunting. Bunch of the early achievements were "do X hundreds of times" but they're trying not to be so repetitive like that any more. Lot of the more rewarding ones are tied to quests so if you get into hunting imaginary points there's another reason to do a quest when the outfit is ugly as fuck or the rewards are useless.

Some of the calender based events aren't too terrible and can be a good opportunity to meet new people as worlds struggle to do that whole "community" thing but there aren't many yearly events that rely heavily on large scale cooperation and no one cares about the two monthly events.

Being a BR player I can say it was the first time the brazilian community managed to find its place on a digital game and some players (most of them being 12 yo kids) didn't know how to behave. It was like the first party you make and your parents aren't home. You just want to make everything you can before the party is over. You can say the same about the polish, but brs managed to be ridiculously annoying sometimes.

Wasn't like that at all. Tibia, as a game, offered players great freedom, and they banded together and made use of it. Brazilians are great at that.

Brazilians just get a bad rep because they represent close to 30% of the player base and often hold all the power in some servers. I believe the Polish were there earlier, so they got a head start, but Brazilians outshined even them. They're your standard boogeyman now.

Nothing any of the parties in power did was against the rules. If they wanted to rule entire servers, they could. If they wanted to hunt someone because they didn't respond to "PL?", they could, too. Back then, this was part of the game.

If anyone is to blame for ruining the game, it's Cipsoft.

And "BRs and PLs" is not a very good reason for not liking this game. Their influence is actually limited to very few servers; plenty of other servers have got an active English-speaking community. Also, you can simply play non-PvP and forget about it all.

I don't really see the point. If they could catch bots within a reasonable time period it might be fun to duke it out with players but seeing the level 200+ completely AFK bots running around the most obvious places like venore and svarground doesn't give me much confidence in cipsofts competence.

Plus PvP is fucking retarded anyway. "Unjusts", which is to say you killed someone who didn't fightback, shouldn't even be an issue, almost no one fucking fights unless they've gone out specifically to PK with a team. All they need to do is tweak some damage values under certain circumstances so you don't need to alpha strike one guy with a dozen people to fucking drop him (pvp is a flat 50% of normal damage).

Goddamn, looking at some of the screenshots, this game has changed. I remember joining on the Danubia server way back in the day. Forget why I quit, but it was some time after PvP skulls were introduced and premium content started getting rolled out more and more. (I forget what the name of the premium-only desert island was. Remember parking my druid on there, though.) Don't think I'll go back, but thanks for bringing up some memories.

The saddest update I remember after I left was when they made hunters no longer resemble PCs. "Hunter is PK" was one of my favorite memes.

Yeah man, rook seems like a ghost town. Sometimes I bump into people, mostly in the village, sometimes when hunting. I was in a cave and I noticed a party doing the "get out of rook fast" quest.

In my time, I'd kill stuff until I had 30 gp to buy a mace, and then head out beyond the bridge. I'd explore rook. I'd meet people. We'd do the katana quest. We'd go kill skeletons.

Yeah, it's still going. Player base fell a bit over the years but there's still about 40k people playing.

Game changed a lot. If you are from before the 7.6 days, you're in for basically a completely revamped game. They changed how items work: you have vocation and level requirements, some items boost magic level, skills, add to your shield's defense. They changed how spells work: new mana system, new elements. They changed the vocations. Sorcerers are less overpowered now and druids are the shit. They changed the PvP rules many times in the eternal search for the perfect balance where it's fun for power abusers and the abused at the same time. PvP isn't like it used to be, and guilds still rule entire servers. Loads and loads of new areas and content, sadly most if not all of them exclusive to premium players. Cipsoft wasn't unable to curb all the cheating and botting, either, but that problem is probably the hardest in online gaming, I don't blame them much for it.

I play on Optional PvP because I didn't want to deal with some ruling guild's rules, faggots killing me for no reason or other kinds of game-ruining bullshit. I just wanted to make friends and have a good time playing the game together with people. I have plenty of fun that way; I consider it good enough to pay for premium account.

Most of us play in Secura, myself included. We have a guild called the Yotsubas. We can invite you if you'd like to come back to the game. I can give you some items in rookgaard to get you through it faster.

You can clear Rookgard in 40 minutes with just premium stamina bonus.
Doing a rotation on surface and 1+ in the premium side is the fastest way to do it. Clear wolf spawns and the snake cave while killing stuff on the way there.

I didn't have much trouble getting one when I did that ages ago. I went and did the Fightfighter achievement the other day and spawned 2 wolves in about 300~ bucket uses which took less than an hour (although I do move faster than a low level). Killed the wolves for the chance at a crystalline armor. One wolf was chased by some bot faggot while I was pulling it to the bog but the wolf outruns level 40 knights easy.

it's a bug with the game failing to determine whether or not a character should be online or not. They fix it, it reoccurs, shit happens. You can generally lessen the chance of it happening by waiting a few seconds before logging off a character after logging on.

It's shitty, but really, should only ever make it take 5m to relog characters. Not a fucking world-ender as Sephi acts it out to be.

You can treat it like a chatroom with a built in mmorpg. Mess about, do a few quests, explore the free area (which is still the largest single landmass), even save up your shekels in game and buy a premium activation item (like EVE has).

Yes you did good, physical protection % reduces the dmg you get by that said %, but it doesn't stack up, for example if you have a stone skin amulet and a might ring you don't get a 100% physical resistance and become inmune but instead the original dmg is reduced 80% and that result is reduced 20%

If you are normally fighting enemies that gives you physical dmg over 60 or 70 it might also be a good idea to use protection amulets instead of platinum amulet as well.

Dwarven legs (which are better) are more expensive and are a quest reward which limits how many can exist. Plus the trade off for 1 less armor but 1 more % is negligible at lower levels.

Zaoan legs are too broken for their stats, price, high drop rate and lack of restrictions. Although I wouldn't really rally for them to be nerfed until better alternatives are made for lower level mages/pallys.

Same shit with Dwarven Armor, best lowbie armor if you're tanking large hits, though MPA/Golden Legs are better than Zaoan/Dwarven Legs/Dwarven Armor if you're taking small hits.
