http://www.dorkly.com/post/18621/the-top-25-snes-games-of-all-time/

Do you agree with this list?

What would you add/remove?

>> No.1762034

More like "List of the only 25 SNES games I've ever heard of"

>> No.1762037

Typical circle jerk list.
The lists have never changed since the late 90's.

>> No.1762039

Predictable list. I don't agree with it.

All of those multiplats are better on the mega drive

>> No.1762120

>>1762039
What would you add?

>> No.1762134

>>1762120

My list would contain the likes of Shadowrun for one.

>> No.1762139

>>1762120
Oh, I dunno, maybe some SFC games, like Lennus 2, M.A.D.A.R.A 2 or Far East of Eden

I'd take away those multiplats and add some of the SNES games only localised in PAL territories that have followings like Terranigma or Demon's Crest.

And I'd fucking remove Chrono Trigger and replace it with Secret of Evermore.

>> No.1762140

mortal kombat 1 and 2 should be removed. why in the fuck are they even on there?

Maybe I'm getting it confused with Devil World, or did it come out in America too?

Nah, Devil World was indeed PAL only

So, it's "the top 25 most popular SNES games", not actually the top 25 in terms of quality. >>1762034 This guy gets it.

>Mortal Kombat

Weren't all of these multiplat? Can they really be considered "SNES games"?

Also
>no Kirby's Avalanche
>no Tetris Attack / Panel de pon
>no Kirby Super Star (this one is actually surprising)
>no Demon's Crest
>no Little Magic

>> No.1762176

looks like all the games little faggots list off when they try to brag about how much better snes is than everything else

Pretty much.
It's par for the course for dorkly

what an awful, awful list.

Meh, it's just another list where a lot of choices are made based on nostalgia, popularity, and impact rather than just which are the most fun today. Not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, but it just makes this list indistinguishable from pretty much any other SNES list.

>> No.1762345

Eh, it's a solid list. Retro hipsters might rage that their favorites aren't on there, but you can't really argue the success and greatness of games listed. It might not be the most original list on the interwebs, but it's not wrong.

1762541

Typical list. I was expect Chrono Trigger or the usual RPGs that everyone knows to be at the top. Looks like they're hindering more to the Nintendo spectrum, though. There's not really much excuse for not having many obscure/non-localized games since we're so far into the age of the internet. Needs more Romancing Saga 3.

Also those comments are cingeworthy.

Even judging the quality of the game itself aside the SNES version wasn't even as good as the Genesis one. I don't even care for the SNES much and already think this list is poo.

It's idiotic. Half of these are multiplats, and all fighting games on the list are inferior multiplats, too. Why in the world of fuck would anyone bother with Mortal fucking Kombat on SNES in the year goddamn 2014?

Straight off the bat I'd drop MK1, Earthworm Jim 2, and DKC, and put in ISS Deluxe, Actraiser, and Wild Guns
If I could be arsed, I'd get rid of all those titles with comparable ports on the Mega Drive, add some more SNES-defining games instead, and also muck around with the ordering.

>> No.1764391

Very hit and miss.

Bullshit.
Especially MK. That game sucked on every console. The arcade version was the only good one, speaking as someone who was in his boyish gaming prime when it came out.

DKC2 is better than DKC.

Yoshi's Island plays better than SMW.

Lufia deserves a place.

EWJ should be higher because it's fucking awesome.

ALttP definitely deserves the #1 though.
No other game says SNES like ALttP.

>Maybe that's why it required both the Sega CD and the 32X just to stay alive a little bit longer.
The Sega CD was just about Sega giving users more options. The SNES could genuinely not have games like Snatcher in a million years.

The 32X was for giving people SuperFX style capabilities at cheaper prices and not screaing the consumer. Why buy many SuperFX games at jacked up prices when you can buy the hardware once and the games at normal prices? What really killed the 32X off in every possible way was the botched Saturn launch.

>>1762697
>the SNES version looks, sounds, and plays better.
The SNES looks better for sure. It definitely sounds worse though, the Genesis version got a remix of the soundtrack that's better than the arcade original. As for which plays better, it's no contest. The SNES version has input lag, the Genesis version doesn't. Enough said. The MK developers apologized for the SNES version in recent times.

I don't understand why everyone on the internet have such a boner for the genesis version. I get that it had blood, but I much prefer the controls to the snes version. Especially when you're playing by yourself and have to break boards.

I can't argue with the arcade version being best. I would love to find a reasonably priced mk cabinet in my area. I have an asteroids cab in my garage it would look great next to.
