Back in the mid 90s when everyone was obsessed with playstation and final fantasy 3, super mario rpg, and the commercial advertising FF7 I got my hands on mega man 1, 2 & 3 (already had 4, 5 & 6 from my previous three b-days) at a flee market, thanks to my dad, for $30. Only thing missing were the boxes and all were mint. (and still are!)

Other than that, maybe my ocarina of time that is the 2nd model code???

I guess I could throw in lunar 1 & 2 (ps1 "complete" versions with all their goodies) with their weird manga-style strategy guides to match as well.

Didn't feel like looking up the value of each game in my small collection, these appear to be the "rarest" or "most expensive" games I own though. Nothing special, got them all at thrift stores cheap. Buying a boxed bootleg-not-bootleg copy of Snake Rattle 'n' Roll for the Mega Drive/Genesis soon though.
Fuck. Resellers.
Not pictured: I guess all the Wario Land games? Metroid 2? I don't know what constitutes rare, $15 is plenty much for me.

>mom took the manual and added it to the rubber banded stack with all my other video game manuals

Same story with every other SNES game I owned; many of them would be really valuable today. Donkey Kong Country, Link to the Past, F-Zero, even Illusion of Gaia that had a mini-strategy guide/walkthrough in the manual and and giant map poster.

If I had taken better care of my games and kept the boxes and manuals all those years ago I'd have a really impressive collection. But I lost essentially every single game and console I ever owned as a kid, including handhelds, when my parents got divorced and moved.

I was 15 at the time. Mom and siblings were moving to a new city with the new husband whom I resented deeply at the time so I refused to go. Dad went and moved into some roach-infested shit shack which I wanted to part of. I got away with living on my own for a few weeks until Mom's divorce attorney got wind that I was living by myself. So I was forced by the authorities to go live with my grandmother.

Grandmother was a hoarder so I didn't even have the room to move in all my video games or my computer. I eventually managed to move my computer but 2 or so weeks later the old family house was foreclosed on and all my games gone.

The only games I have left are Chrono Cross (black label), Final Fantasy VII (shitty green label), Final Fantasy IX (missing a disc) NES Pinball, and mother fucking Super Battleship for SNES.

It is, my point was that I can't actually play Legacy because I'd have to buy full decks despite having a collection going way back, because none of the top tier "powerful" cards I actually do own are allowed, besides Force of Will, which isn't the basis of a deck.

I wouldn't run Channel in EDH anyway.

Posting a rare console/rare game to not veer to far offtopic. Not as rare as the Sega CD stuff I posted earlier, though, I don't think.

When I said take a pic I meant like... I have the game, just never thought much of it, cause I'm not s big shmup person. I got that, gunbird 2, gigawing games, with essentially every fighter on Dreamcast with a boxed Dreamcast and a hunch of other things for 280 from a guy bout a year back. I was doing it mostly cause I really wanted athe copy of Jojo, cause I already had the ps1 version.

I try to play more in general, but it's actually been a lot harder to go to events now that I had to give up my car, and I don't have the money to even lease, and the only person who has a car that I can use to travel to events is extremely unreliable. As far as legacy goes, it's actually unpopular in my area(Long Island, NY); the hotness is actually vintage, since there's a lot of rich, older Italians and Jews who buy and trade power like it's stock, so it's harder for me to practice legacy than I'd like. I will be playing in the StarCity Invitiational that's gonna be in New Jersey in August, though, since I qualified a few months ago.

Also, running out of rare/valuable games to post.

I actually used to live in an area that had a regular casual legacy day and legacy tournaments occasionally before I played magic but I moved away and then got into it with no nonstandard around.

A lot of areas are definitely starting to shift towards modern, which is cheaper, but not by as big a margin as people think; the fetches are still expensive, as well as a lot of premium creatures. If it wasn't for StarCity, the format would be nearly dead, but they also caused the initial price spike that happened a few years back when they started hoarding legacy staples then started holding legacy events. It's a dirty tactic, but it worked, unfortunately.

since i dont want to start a thread,i will post this here.

i found these games (pic related) in a box,and i would like to sell them,i see people selling majoras mask alone for at least 20$ in my region.

so asking for 50$ or 40 for the 4 games and the controller and the memory card since i would get rid of them at the same time (i dont have the N64 anymore)

I mean, like monetary-wise, not company-wise.

Because I bought the cart from a rental store three or four years ago for a dollar. I thought N64 games were really cheap.

No pictures atm because I'm mobile.

My PS1 collection is pretty large, but I have
Tron Bonne Complete
Arc the Lad Collection Complete
Lunar and Lunar 2 Complete in mint condition
Strider 2 Complete
Haunting Ground (i know not retro)
Rule of Rose (i know not retro)

Those are the big contenders, I have a few others that are ~70-80 range but I cant remember exaclty what they are off the top of my head.

I just got a $100 amazon gift card. I want to get a/some rare but mostly good rpgs, probably for ps1. I'm thinking Xenogears, and then I'm debating between getting some stuff like Legend of Dragoon, Dragon Warrior VII, Brave Fencer Musashi, FF Tactics, or dropping most of it on something expensive like Fire Emblem Path of Radiance sorry for not retro or Digimon World 2. What do you guys think? also my rarest games are probably FFVII, VIII and VIII. I know they aren't very rare, I don't have many actually rare games

pretty solid collection. I'm waiting for fetches to get reprinted so I can really get into modern, right now I have pyrodelver deck with a couple of mistys. I have a friend who has a playset of beta underground seas, a playset of foil jaces, and a bunch of other shit in a safety deposit box.

>>1790759
Fetch reprints won't happen for at least another year, and I'm suspecting it'll be the Onslaught cycle, which would be great at blowing the format wide open; a lot of the top decks right now center around enemy-colored pairs(UR, RUG, GWB, Jund, etc.).

If I had the spare cabbage, I'd invest in high-end foils, duals, and power, and just sit on it forever in a safety deposit. It's a better investment than the stock market(and rare video games,), that's for sure, as the price of everything has been on the up and up for years. And with Vintage Masters on MTGO, I expect power to increase in value even more so than usual, which has had a steady 5-10% increase in value every year already.

Unfortunately, everytime I get a piece of power, I end up selling it or putting it towards high end foils. Already gone through a white bordered Jet, Emerald, and Pearl in my lifetime.

>> No.1790973

>>1790921
Wizards has said that if they reprint fetches, they'll do the full cycle, although they've been known to lie.

There's a guy in my area who collects power and especially black lotus', and has something like a few hundred of them. I've also heard he has the only beta sheet that's been authenticated by wizards. Also power/black lotus is an extremely safe investment, as they've increased more steadily than gold

Yeah, owning power is really good.. if you're a collector. I'm a player first, however, and power doesn't offer me much when most of the vintage tournaments I attend are unsanctioned, and therefore allow usually up to 15 proxies. As a legacy player I'd rather just own 40 duals, 40 fetches, FoWs, Wastelands, etc. since legacy normally doesn't allow proxies. Most of the guys I know who own power don't play much in the way of formats other than vintage.

Besides, next piece of power I get I'll probably trade it in for a copy of Little Samson like an idiot.

>> No.1791254

>owning power is really good.. if you're a collector.
True, most people who own power just jerk it to them instead of actually playing vintage. Also I didn't know vintage tournaments allowed proxies, I've proxied vintage with friends before and pyromancer gush is hella fun

>> No.1791302

>>1791254
It's a good thing us retro enthusiasts don't spend entire threads just showing off our expensive games, that'd just be obnoxious.

But yeah, most vintage tournaments allow a certain amount of proxies because they want people to actually show up and spend money, and winning them is a good way to actually get your hands on some power; that's how I won my Emerald a few years back with dredge. There's only two major tournaments that don't allow proxies, which is Vintage Champs, which used to take place in Indianapolis, but since moved to Philly, and Bazaar of Moxen in France.

Tried to stick to stuff that's legitimately hard to find or CIB.
