Vectorman holds a place in my heart as I recall as a child my mother having me pack my backpack to go stay over my father's house who I only visited a few times a year if I was lucky only to have him disappear. One thing I always brought was my Sega Genesis and my favorite game at the time; Vectorman. We used to play it before bed every time. He had a cool blacklight over the mattress that I slept on in his apartment and he took me to see the movie Antz that night. I can't remember much else because he was killed in a car accident a weeks later.

Love you Dad, I barely knew ya. Thanks for the memories Vectorman.

I honestly can't stand Vectorman. I wanted to like it, as it had good reviews and I loved platformers, but nope. I hated the visuals and the gameplay. Everything just felt so bland and dull.

On my favourite, it's a hard one. Ristar or Gunstar Heroes, I think. SoR 2 is right up there.

I would definitely agree. Gunstar Heroes was the reason I got a Genesis in the first place, along with SoR2 and the Sonic games.

Revenge of Shinobi

not even just for the gameplay. the music (exceptional good for a megadrive game), the variation in level design and backdrops, the pop-culture references (the evil 'super-hero' level bosses)

such a great experience from start to finish that doesn't get boring or repetitive at any point due to how varied it is

I've been getting more into Genesis games and collecting them lately.

Do they all have those cases? I like my games complete because I like reading manuals.

Also, favorite game is MUSHA.

I have a few. But the first game I played on my MD(had played before Sonic in a friends house) was Rocket Knight Adventures. Until this day this is one of my fav games of all time. Sparkster(MD) is good too, but it doesn't have the same charm.
>>1741389
I bought a MD at the time with RKA and Castlevania and those games didn't had cases, but the manual was there. Those 6in1 pack games were the same with the console(MegaDrive+Sonic or +6 n1 or 3in1). Sonic & Knuckles was a paper case. But almost everything else was the normal black case like the Master System.

Pretty much everything before S3&K, including SMS games, came in a hard black plastic clamshell case with a transparent leather-texture sleeve. Many of my Genesis games are still in brand new shape, despite their age. All but like four of my NES game boxes are busted up.

Reminds me, I need to make an Everdrive insert for my Mega Everdrive... but I have almost no reason to take it out of the system! The only time I do is when I'm playing the Bad Apple demo or SMS games (32X and Sega CD haet them for hogging up the memory bus space or something).

I've often been kind of jealous of the other kids in my grade who had Super Nintendos growing up, because it seemed like all my friends had it and me and only one other kid I knew had the Genesis.

But I wouldn't have grown up with this game otherwise, and I wouldn't trade that for growing up with anything on the SNES.

Really? First time I've ever heard that. The main reason I liked Vectorman so much was because of all the little lighting effects and smooth animations they had (Not exactly the best though, that distinction goes to Red Zone and Sub-Terrania). Much better than, say, DKC on SNES which was like pixelated 3D models superimposed over a pre-rendered background. It didn't blend in as much as Vectorman. But I'm a huge Segafag anyways.

Personally, I think Vectorman is too big on the screen. It feels like the same problem that Earthworm Jim has, where you can't see what you're running into until it's too late. It seems alright otherwise though.

I still remember the day I got off work all sweaty and smelling of raw ground chuck, went across the street to Funcoland to pick up Shinobi 3, drove through Sonic, came home with absolutely nothing to do on the weekend but play and beat this game. I still believe to this day it is the most perfect Shinobi on console, although Revenge of Shinobi provided a greater challenge.

Well this is mine as well, I'm actually surprised someone posted it already. I guess it's not as obscure as it used to be. When I first played it, it was one of the most obscure games you could imagine.
