Big surprise. Why is it 90% of the listings on ebay are from New York or its environs? Why is the upper east coast such a hotspot for used games? Nearly every one I look at comes from there. You never see sellers from like, Wyoming or anything like that.

Acceptable is the lowest condition you can list something for, I believe. If they had something lower, like "bad," no one would even consider buying it. Real issue is when people abuse the "Like New" condition (which should imply that it is not just in the condition it came in when new, but also is complete as well), only applying it to just the cart or disc, likely based on the idea that the game itself is all that matters, and that the box/cover art/manual can go fuck itself.

I feel bad because as a kid I took pretty good care of my stuff, but I always threw out the boxes to games because I was taught they were just packing material and had no value. I kept my Chrono Trigger box and manual, though that's all I have of it anymore since some asshole stole my game, and a couple Pokemon boxes, but looking back I really wish I'd kept all the others. By the time I started saving them the damage had already been done. I only have a couple manuals anymore too, I don't even know how the rest all got lost, since I know I wouldn't have thrown them away.

Why does this matter? I see it a lot. Unless your dog or cat is actively pissing on the game what difference does it make if there's an animal in the house? It's not like their very presence is going to stain the game like cigarette smoke will.

Pets shed, roll around, their owners might have a different standard of "clean" from accepting the fact there's this living, moving thing in the house that can't be told to clean up after itself to shower regularly.

My sister recently handed me their game systems, and they do have a slightly grimy quality to them. probably from some combination of always having a dog, and being a bit messy at home.
