I think the best bet for dealing with congestion is a 3 lane pathway, but with a median in most places to avoid guest confusion and allow for some gardens and statues.

If it's just a 3-wide pathway, janitors will have a hard time keeping it clean, and it will lead to guests wandering in zig-zagging paths which will cause more crowding.

A 3-wide with a median is more effective than a double width path, imo, and looks better.

Here's my Forest Frontiers Mine doesn't have as many peeps as yours, but it's almost undercrowded. The other thing I've been using, since I'm at the point where I can wipe my ass with in-game money, is really low ride prices and loooong queues that eat up peeps, but keeping them happy with entertainers and lamps.

Essentially, I'm providing the best park possible at the lowest cost, which is extra important for guest retention on RCT 1 parks, because no ATMs.

The top left is the entrance.

Sidenote- the bottom right area, the last remaining open area in the park, has been filled with a giant Suspended Swinging Coaster that eats up about 70 or so in the line, and I think a max capacity of 72 on ride.

Use queue line paths on the entrances. They look like this. This allows guests to line up for a ride, and you can decide the maximum line length using queue line paths.

Queue line paths should only be used on entrance lines, since they're more limited than regular paths and might confuse guests.

it'd be nice if there could be a scenery schematics thing in openrct where you can select an area of scenery to save and paste it rather than having to do it through rides

also they need to fix the selecting tthing to be like the bulldozer tool so you can select a lot at once, and then use the single select to unselect stuff you dont want

making 10+ excitement woodies is hard. ive gotten one ride over 10, with a loop, scenery, and water, but i dont feel like ive won. the ride looks like shit, and loops have no place on a true woodie IMO.

im glad that after all these years playing my favorite game, i still cant beat my own personal "final boss."

one day though, once i do this, I hope chris sends me a letter in the mail. all it is, is an autographed head shotof him saying "great work champ" or something equally cheesy yet endearing.

>> No.1689613

>>1689601
Personally anytime I make a good ride entrance building that I could recreate and add on to while making it something new, I just make a small tracked circle ride to save that quickly, and then replace that ride with whatever i'm actually going to use. This way you can have basic building skeletons and scenery is much more manageable.

>> No.1689614

>>1689610
Once you get better at making woodies it's about as simple as making a dueling one, or putting another ride very close. Scenery or not usually this about does it. But there's really no point in making a ten excitement woodie in my experience, as the added drops and length make it so it's almost always an incredibly intense ride.

Try a dueling one, I guess, that might be easier to still get a relatively low intensity score.

I usually run my parks until the best ride i've made so far is almost inoperable, then I usually put that in a separate folder which I only use to look at old designs and use 8cars for things other than landscaping on so those rides will be alive forever.

I save the ride designs too, but it kinda means something to me to save the entire thing, even if the rest of the park has been changed, that one "premier" ride will always live on this way.

I think I do this becase as a kid in RCT1 I mostly played dynamite dunes, and i'd always recreate the mine coaster when it became run down, because it made me feel bad to see it have to go.

Some more tips: Be sure to uncheck the "mow grass" option on handymen, they're far better off sticking to paths.
Always put a bench or two at the exit of a rollercoaster, guests like to sit down after intense and nauseating rides. They sit down to recover and it helps reduce path messes.

Also, put the information kiosk where the dolphin fountain is... it'll make more money.

Other than that, the park looks better than before.

Is there a way to make all the rides of the same type have the same price without having to go one by one?

>Is there a way to make all the rides of the same type have the same price without having to go one by one?
Ride prices are manual, but have the same default price. You'll probably end up changing it from the default, though.
>If a ride has too many people in line, should I reduce the queue line or make it have less cars or make it shorter?
This one depends. A high-capacity rollercoaster can use a long line, while a low-capacity ride, like a merry-go-round needs a shorter line. You can use entertainers and queue line TVs to keep guests occupied while they wait.
Ride efficiency is something to consider when building a custom ride. Some rides benefit greatly from more train/cars, like log flumes, so if your log flume has a massive line, add more boats.
>How many workers is the optimal amount?
General rule of thumb is one mechanic per rollercoaster, handymen should be set to patrols. A handyman patrol depends on where the litter is. An area with food will need a handyman. High-nausea rides need to have a handyman patrol too.
Security guards should be put anywhere where vandalism seems to pop up.

well, i managed to get a woodie to extreme excitement. obviously it took every trick i know to raise that high. Ignore the looping coaster, its just there to provide a boost, it doesnt even complete the loop.

unfortunately i really dont like the look of the woodie. its just a mess. i dont like having a loop on the ride either, but as of yet im not good enough to get high excitement without one.

It's too bad I cannot recreate the launch segment in each of the RCTs, it would be awesome if I could.

I've to say though the Robin Hood still stays the comfiest, and the Goliath is worth the dime.

Yes. The game checks the allowed values when you use the buttons in-game, not when you change the values in memory or when the ride runs. If you save such a design, you'll need to rehack it when you plop it down, though.

That reminds me, the fact that station wait times arent saved irks me. I perfectly tune my block section timings in the designer and they just go away unless I record them manually.

Design rides with the same methodology as actual designers. Spread and mix high/med/low intensity rides. Clump rides together in a matching way and separate clumps with landscaping and foliage. Build food courts large or small, along with shops, mixed into the rides.

Didn't know what to build down in my 50's Art Deco area, decided I wanted a drag racing themed coaster and ended up with a mashup between Rita and TTD. Stats are shite though.

>> No.1700224

You have a ton of room for expansions, so there's no need to bulldoze anything just yet, I think. I'd say add something to the right of the black and white looping coaster. Or on either side of the midway in this picture >>1700197

You've got a lot of guests, a good amount of money, and tons of space... time for a large, high-capacity crowd-pleaser. A large hypercoaster or hyper-twister.

I like the idea of a hi-cap ride (feinstein would be furious if she knew I liked hi-cap assault rides)

I'm thinking a more appropriate location is near the far end of the park in order to reduce overcrowding, which is only at 5.8% (155/2645 guests)

I think I need another branch of pathing to help reduce some of the crowding though

Except it probably shouldn't intersect your main avenue like that. Woodies run along the edges of things rather than cutting through them. At the very least you would want some kind of archway underneath it cutting through the supports so that it doesn't "block" the view down the path.

Hey there!
I'm working on Diamond Heights too! Reaching the double park value goal is pretty easy. I was already there at the end of year 1.

I noticed major boosts in income and park value from the Woody and the Water Slide i built. It's pretty tedious to keep the park clean tho.. people seem to like puking a lot.

Also watch out for the prebuilt coasters. They tend to crash easy. I had to assign dedicated mechanics to their exits and made them inspect every 10 minutes.
