Is using scenery for your rides useful?
Beyond what the level already has and I haven't had to delete in order to fit my track / ride in I've literally never bothered with scenery before. How much does scenery add to a ride? Are there certain hotspots for it or can you just dump trees or whatever anywhere and gain the same benefit? Does keeping a theme give a greater benefit than changing up between them (even if they fit visually)?

>> No.1681997

>>1681992
Scenery can add as much as a point of excitement to roller coasters. Potentially more for flat rides. For tracked rides, place anywhere enar track. For flat rides, within five squares of the placement arrow. Scenery item doesnt matter; you can shit the same bush in a dense mat.

I dunno... but I kinda like RCT3's coastercam despite the fact RCT2 has much more possibilities in scenery and all. It gives the feeling that you can make rides a lot better in terms of experience by giving it your own opinion. Although you can't go farther than a few walls and trees as shown in this picture. and pretty much no functionality for rooftops and whatever without raising the ground; which is a botched system as well.

Kind of a dilemma here actually, I like RCT3's focus on the rides, but RCT2 is better in scenery and everything.

Maybe I should just swallow the chunk and get over it.

Ah, but does not vekoma create similar corkscrews?

In the grand scheme of things, some Arrow corkscrews have midtrain vehicles with the rounded front, like the one seen in the RCT series, so I think it's more or less an Arrow Coaster, like you said.

Here's the other side of the park, nicknamed the Twisted Forest. The major update I'm planning for this area is to delete the TOGO Looping Coaster I plopped down. It was a prebuilt that came with one of the modpacks I've got, and it's pretty meh. I touched up some of the banking and such, but it got the job done for a cheap third coaster early in the game.

The Mini Coaster was custom designed, and I'm really happy with it. The Virginia Reel was plopped, as well.

You'd be amazed how stupid people are.

Where I'm from we have a speedway that's been there for years. Nothing huge or anything, but loud cars race in ovals or whatever like any other speedway. Back in the day when it was built, it was completely isolated from everything - nothing but corn fields all around so that people didn't have to live near a noisy speedway. Over the years houses and businesses and shit were built around it as the city expanded, and now the people that have lived around the speedway in houses that have been there maybe a tenth of how long the speedway has existed want it shut down because it's too loud, despite that the speedway predates their shitty houses.

Where am I going with this? People are retards, will willingly move into places next to loud shit like a theme park or speedway, and if enough of them get pissed they'll try to shut the whole thing down, regardless of if the attraction was there first or not.

There is a config.txt in the game files. Usually its hidden.
After you changed it make sure to write protect the file so your game doesn't reverse your changes.
You won't be able to change any settings ingame from that point on so make sure those are perfect. You will also get an error message every time you close options or stop building paths. But that ain't a problem.
You can als turn of some collision detections and the start up screens in the config.txt but text placement is important here.

Don't forget to save a vanilla config in case you fuck up.

If the Immersion is getting messed up because you're having trouble framing a ride, put a turn in the lift hill and choose a size like 14x10 squares you'll build in.
Guests can tolerate a long woodie, so don't worry about having it be 3+ minutes long.
You can spend that longer total time fitting in air time, E for woodies is mainly tied to latG and air time.

Was thinking about some ides for the hexa-collab. Maybe a pair of racing coasters that split up, then criss-cross over a food court?
It is a bit bigger than the other parks, from the looks of it. Maybe I can do a small wooden coaster and a larger twister.

I'm considering an old timey section with some wood buildings, a Mine Coaster and a Log Flume for my section when it comes to me. Thoughts?
