Well the Mega Drive can play Master System games if that helps. You did meantion having an Everdrive so that shouldn't be an issue. Hopefully this sorta helps.

Nope! Regardless of whether the English version still has the FM music in it (maybe?), the Mega Drive does not have the same chip. FM music in MS games is only possible on a Japanese MS or upgraded Mark. III.

Anyone know of a way of loading the 32X ROMs on a Everdrive MD, without needing to take off the 32X module and loading them from the Mega Drive/Genesis first? Whenever I do it straight through the 32X, I just get a blackscreen.
If I have to take apart the two consoles, and switch SCART cables over one more time I'm likely to breakdown.

You could stick the power base converter on the top, and there was a PAL model 2 converter that was like a lock-on cartridge.

Or, you can just build a 128bit Genesis.

MD is not really the best system for JRPGs.
Only other one I can think of is the Langrisser series (first game came to the US as Warsong, second game has a translation patch).

I've been playing RPGs since the mid 80s, and I just loaded up PS4 for the first time ever, and I am utterly amazed at the quality of this game. Hands down, it rivals FF6.

Yeah, I agree, PS4 is fantastic. My only real nitpicks with it are the somewhat clunky inventory, and the fact that the game doesn't tell you what any of the spells/skills do.
