That. Also old Puzzle Bobble games. My favourite is Puzzle Bobble 2 because of nostalgia, the music and the characters casting. But objectively later Puzzle Bobble games are better since they add new gameplay ideas (except from the last Puzzle Bobble for 3DS which I haven't played yet but I haven't heard good comments about it).

would reccomend you the following, based on my own twisted taste:

-Sim City (SNES)>Sim City 3000 (PC)>Sim City 4 (PC) (building a city is so much fun for some reason)
-Civilization 3 (PC)
-ANNO 1602 (PC)
-Sims (PC)
-GTA San Andreas (once enugh of the world is unlocked you can do stunts all day or cruize around or buy houses or gamble ^^) (PC)
-Pizza Connection/Airline Tycoon (PC) (always had a weaknes for those games)
-Audiosurf (PC) (The one where your own .mp3 files create levels)
-Peggle/Chuzzle/Insane Aquarium Deluxe/Plants vs Zombies/Zuma (PC) (Ultra Casual games)
-Age of Empires 2 (PC)
-Fallout 3 (PC) (you wouldn't believe how much there is to explore. you can just walk in any direction and you are bound to stumble upon something cool. the game is one huge fun easter egg)
-Theme Hospital/ Settlers 2 and 3 (PC) (so many NPC walking around!)
-Mirrors Edge (PC/...) Mainstream as hell but the game is really fun and the colors are always a nice surprise)
-Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 (PC/Consoles) (just fun to drive around in free skate and make tricks once in a while)

Console reccomendations in a minute

-Wario Ware (GBA) (pointless, surprising, fun, you'll love the whole series)
-Wario Ware Twisted (GBA with built-in motionsensor and rumble into the huge-ass cartridge. There are tons of toys build in you can unlock and they are really fun. The game was never released in Europe but you can get in on ebay now. There is even a romhack that lets you control the game with the Dpad (which works but is less fun)
-Wario Ware touched (DS)/ Wario Ware Smooth Moves (Wii) (pure unfiltered awesome these games. best minigames in the world)
-Tower SP (GBA) (fun game)
-DK Jungle Climber (DS) >>>DK King of Swing (GBA)
-Legend of the River Kind (GBC)
-Survival Kids (GBC)
-Blast Corps (N64)
-Phoenix wright Ace Attorney (GBA/DS) (my favorite 'recent' franchise. you are a lawyer who is busting liars in court. this is incredible fun. trust me! play the first case of the first of the series which you can solve in i guess 20 minutes and you will unserstand why it is awesome)
-Dragon Quest Hero Rocket slime (DS) (crazy concept. you are a slime and you have to rescue the other slimes from your village that have been kidnapped by asshole-ducks. in the process you see interesting places and collect stuff that is later used as ammunition in ridiculous-ass robo-tank battles. fun cartoony style and full of humor and sillyness. superb sound effects and music)
-Freshly Pickeled Tingles Rosy Rupeeland (DS) (the game is crazy. nuff said)
-Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan (DS) (japanes-only rhytm game where you kind of control a group of male japanese cheerleader who save the day in various situations)
-Kid Icarus (NES) (the game is crazy)

i know how silly this sounds:
storywise the end was
