I am beginning to feel guilt over my actions. The game calculates hyper twisters and gigas so highly that the unholy mix of speed and jewery is too much. I feel sorry for the peeps, for they are so easily taken advantage of. I just want like a high 7 or an 8, but it never happens.

>>1662854
I'm going to be nerfing it heavily in terms of length, and probably changing that knot as per the suggestion here to also reduce the excitement some. I'm also trying to make this park all twister of some kind, so I could build this back up to be the big one in terms of excitement later, but right now it is my entrance coaster, and if it shines too much nobody goes to my other one.

This is a game I have played since I was 11 or so, the weight of the shekels I have scammed off of peeps has overcome me, I just want to give people a park where they have fun, but I am not taking all of their money away with ease and glee. Also I figured an all twister-coaster-of-some-kind park would be more interesting if I wasn't abusing the excitement.

For reasons I cannot figure out though, he's always refused to share the designs for it with the weakest justification imaginable. I'd very much like to look at the designs for it so I can deconstruct it and learn from them what sort of things he did to achieve it and improve my own ride designs as a result. I always liked doing what I'd call Re-Education Facilities. I raised some land really high and put free fries, cheap drinks and expensive toilets in this plaza. I'd also put about twelve entertainers there.

Every now and then I'd find the unhappiest saps in the park, drag them up there, and keep them there for a while. Eventually they'd get hungry, eat free fries, be happy, drink cheap soda, get happier, and then refuse to use the toilet because it cost about 50 bucks.

When they were completely unhappy again, I'd move them to a second raised area that had the most intense steel coaster I could possibly design, its entrance on the second raised area and its exit in the farthest reaches of the park I could manage while still allowing eventual exit.

Any peep who didn't pay the rest of their money (the price was tailored to each peep in residence) to leave after 6 months was placed in The Pit, which was the opposite of raised areas. This area had no facilities, benches or paved areas, and about 20 entertainers. They would die there.

Jesus Christ I was fucked up as a child.

I built the original thinking it had longer trains and would carry more momentum like a Twister, since I'd never really built a Vertical Drop Coaster before. Long story short, I had to add the steep lift hill segment after the fact because the coaster stalled at the exact top of the second high drop after the loop, so I had to elevate it and make some ugly alterations to the underground segment which included some more a steeper return to horizontal from vertical. I really liked the loop over the pathway and the Vertical Drop through the Helix so those were the elements of the design I made sure to keep.

I figured it'd be too many Gs and that I'd have to delete and redesign. Anyway, I ran the test, and everything turned out better than expected.

I'd do stuff like that too, but my personal favorite was herding everybody from one of the 6 Flags Parks into a single area over water via "No Entry Signs" and the only options were getting on one of 8 synched launched looping coasters to their deaths, that would only launch when all were full...or waiting there until I deleted all the pathways and drowing.

Sometimes I'd build like targets in the distance and play Roller Coaster Skee-ball with fully loaded trains.

I went on an inventive bad guy kick years and years ago. Traps and shit, "terrorizing" the neighborhood kids, it all evolved into a kid's version of JLA or something. It was actually pretty neat, and I have some fond memories of it.

One thing I liked to do was punishing peeps who walked around with full pockets complaining about the park. My parks usually had something for everyone, so when someone walked around with a fat wallet saying "X looks too intense for me!" "I want to go on something more exciting than Y..." I would look at their stats and design a perfect coaster for them.

The first ride was free; if they went elsewhere they were allowed to go free.

However, if they went back to the ride, I dragged them to an island and kept them there. I occasionally dropped them into the water and rescuing them before they drowned. I would then redesign the coaster and lock access to it, and place the peep by the queue.

Eventually, because they loved the ride, they would get on it, but the redesign always removed key pieces of track. Often, there would be proper twists and turns, etc, but the end of the ride always had a long stretch of accelerators ending in a ramp that led the car to fly off onto the park's most densely populated path.

The point of a vertical drop coaster is the vertical drops. Try not to abuse those steep-to-level transitions too much, they're probably why you've got so many tough forces. Treat it more like a small, compact hyper-twister than a regular twister.

>> No.1665240

>>1665235

Yeah the first build of the coaster didn't have the steep to level transition after the big drop underground, but I ended up having to raise the lift hill and that changed the height on the drop pieces, forcing me to use it. I'm just glad it's still not too intense.

OpenRCT2 (git commit 702) download link:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/psixi2qjotatvnz/OpenRCT2-702.zip

Just drop the files from the zip inside your RCT2 folder and start openrct2.exe. Again, RCT2 must be installed in one of the above locations (assuming it still crashes if it's not in one of those, I haven't tried it on the absolute latest build). A custom config file will be automatically created in My Documents/OpenRCT2 (ideally this should be created regardless of whether or not RCT2 is in one of those locations so that you can change the game directory, but it crashed last time I tried, which was quite a few commits ago)

There are still some minor issues. Sound can cut out sometimes, at least for me, and I managed to crash it once. Make sure you remember to save your game often, just in case.

I think they'll always get around 50$ and can do it as long and as often as they are happy enough to want to remain in the park.

Fairly minimal progress so far, but I'm turning out a pretty reliable profit.

Going to leave it running overnight to let the funds build up, hopefully nothing terrible happens.

What is the security guard actually for?
I've never found a purpose for him. I always hire one at the beginning of a game, but I never see a purpose for him.

There's a set distance a guest can travel while being angry and not seeing a security guard around before they vandalize, I believe is the way things work. So you might not even need a security guard if your park is good enough i would imagine?
