i liked all of them. atomic, frido and creeping all look comfy as hell but still look vastly different from each other. blueballed built amazing coasters, as is expected of him. His park to me looks the most, "classic RCT" if that makes sense, bright colors and great coasters. ultimately i picked posterfig, he really had the most out there concept, and i think it came together really well, very unique

Oh good, so I'm not the only one!

Even though the layout of the coaster isn't the most aesthetic one in the contest, the support structures came out excellently and the drop to underground followed by that tunnel exit is too beautifully executed to ignore. I love the cute and varied architecture too. Fridolin's park manages to avoid that "giant blob buildings" pitfall and keep its structures realistically sized.
To me, it's the park I can most imagine myself actually seeing from the ground. It feels so real to me.

Well shit, this is a nice surprise. I'm glad people like my park! I wasn't sure if I should vote for my own so I went with another one.

It's been really interesting seeing the results of a contest with this degree of freedom. I like to think each contestant's entry is a reflection of their personality.
I wonder what kind of stuff we would get from a slightly stricter contest, i.e. a park with an objective, or tighter rules on permitted rides, scenery etc.
At any rate, I look forward to taking part in future contests.

It's a park we started last year, basically it's a collab park except there are no borders between everyone's part, hence the name.

All of us get together on skype (text only) and discuss what could be added to the park next and generally take it in turns to add bits while discussing ideas with each other.

The park itself is 75x75 and has as much custom scenery as the competition park did, only it's mostly industrial themed instead of jungle themed.

Anyone have any interesting features they're hoping will be able to be implemented in OpenRCT2?

I'd like a layer isolate feature where you can only view certain Z layers of the map, so if you have a building floating above something, you can load just the number of layers it's in and nothing else, it might have like a start layer and end layer so you can load multiple isolated layers

great idea
to add to that, a toggle to make paths invisible

Also,
>Make your own custom scenery tabs for scenarios
>Button in ride window that makes ride invisible or visible again
>Ability to toggle invisible path on visible
>For walls and tracked rides, a repeater function, you input the number of times you want the ride part to be repeated and it will build it for you, so you don’t have to keep clicking to build Mr Bones, and for walls it will stack the wall up how many times you wanted, can stack horizontally and vertically to create large buildings really fast. Would be great for painlessly building long supports too.
>Can save terrain and shops along with ride just like how you save scenery and paths with a ride
>Real time multiplayer mode, assign land to each player that only they can use, then host server, can be passworded, there's a button for list of all servers on the main menu. So basically our co-op parks but in real time.
>Can disable automatic supports for coasters/rides
>Make your own custom supports, then save them, and you can make it the default support for rides and it would replace the default supports with yours, can assign specific support layouts to different track pieces
> Improved ride customization, like adding railings for the track, or changing a flat ride's ground to metal instead of the brown floor, and adding colorable flashing lights to rides

My favorite part of this one though, is how perfectly the entrance is set up to allow people to hop on, get in and take off. There's a 4 second wait time on the boats, which is the bare minimum so they don't hit each other at the bottom of the 4th drop (the one totally covered) so this thing is a profit machine. You've got quite a bit of lifts there. I think excitement is based on having continuous ride momentum, meaning not having slow parts such as lifts and mixing up combinations of drops, helixes, and banked turns/drops, etc. confined within the limitations of trains and their reduced speed with friction as they keep going along the track.

tl;dr keep the trains moving, have plenty of twists and turns, and it's sure to crank up excitement.

I'm docking you a point for the weird color scheme on scenery and the floating mine houses as well.

Having the Haunted House right next to the entrance is unorthodox, but not necessarily a bad thing. That's something I'd put a little back from the main part of the park, with a bit of scenery.

The coaster is pretty alright, but I wish it were more flush with the ground since you're going for cozy. Giant concrete and metal supports aren't cozy.

I must have missed those threads.

I changed some things i didn't like and now one of them passed the .5 barrier. I doubt it could reach 8 though. There is not enough speed left near the end and intens goes up too fast for anything that isn't a helix. If 2 tracks went through a loop it could probably reach .6 but it would ironically not have enough speed to actually make the loop after that.

Green Lantern is almost full retard, just painful crap, but Batman has a special place in my heart when I almost built the same thing in RCT2 and realized how close it is to some of the small footprint janky coasters RCT leads people to make. I'm impressed that it makes it through the loop and corkscrew at less than 40mph

the only thing I don't like is that it hits the curve after the screw at 25+ mph, it looks kinda bad

The turn after the corkscrew is bad, and you should feel bad. Everything else is maybe B- work. Perhaps use a double right corkscrew, and come back through the loop and then twisting a bit to kill some speed before going into the station. It'll make the ride more exciting, but probably a little less intense.

It could be better. You have lots of turns and banked drops with steep hills. The more the cars swing, the higher the nausea. Yet, the irony of Suspended Swinging Coasters is that those same elements contribute to higher excitement.
